running after chesty cough

Hi all,
I'm sure this has been covered at some point but couldn't find it after searching...
I have a rotten cold, which as per usual has mutated into a seal-like barking cough. I'm not considering running at the moment but am wondering how much time I should take out of my schedule.
My last run was 9miles 6 days ago and I've been doing about 15-20 miles a week for the past 2 months. My half marathon is on 7th September.
My thought was (depending on when the bark goes) to do a week of slow 3-5mile runs, then start bumping the distance back up
Does this sound sensible??

You *may* be able to keep running. My personal rule of thumb is that if something is not causing me to change (speed or gait) I tend to run through it. If a change then I do back off. If you do need to back off then certainly do so. As soon as you think you can "run without change" then do so. How much to add depends on how long you are "out." The longer you are out the more slowly you want to come back.
