One reason I like the Polar Loop is that it quantifies sitting time as well as encouraging not sitting too long at a time.
The paper below has some reasons for the relationship between sitting time and health.
I haven't looked for a Cochrane Review, but I think it's well established that sitting time is a risk factor for several lifestyle diseases.

I would love to hear what other people know, or have found out about sitting or other behaviours that can be changed to improve health.
