Starving after working out!

OK Guys & Gals. I have upped my workouts a bit more and I find I am ravenous afterward. I usually eat 2 yogurts and have protein cereal with milk and a piece of cheese just before bed which is a must or my GERD really acts up in the middle of the night (I do take meds for it.) So I am wondering how else to deal with this situation short of eating us out of house and home. Any suggestions before I start gnawing on the husbands arm. Thanks Tracy.

Maybe you need to fully hydrate post-exercise, wait a half hour, then see how hungry you actually are.

Maybe eat an hour before you exercise, getting in a good amount of protein. Should help with the post-exercise hunger.

Thanks for the suggestion. Water is definitely not an issue for me. I usually drink 16+ cups a day. I didn't like to eat before doing anything physical because when I was heavier I would throw up. I am definitely going to give it a try tonight. Maybe eat my yogurt before my workout. You keep you posted. :flowerforyou:

That is kind of crazy, because I have the opposite effect. I take this boot camp class at 615 in the morning. So I wake up drink water while iM driving there. Then I have to shower and go to work and by the time I get to work the sound of food grosses me out. I usually wait another hour and then eat a scrambled egg with avacado or something like that. But even at that time it is hard to get down.

Maybe if you just waited after your workout a bit and just hydrate, you may have a better outcome at the end.

The increased hunger is due to the increased workouts, your body wants more calories to make up for it. Try using a full fat yogurt, or whole milk with the cereal. A piece of fruit prior to workout might help too. Also a scoop of protein powder in there somewhere wouldn't hurt either.

Wow I wish I was like that. After my workout I drink usually 3-4 cups of water. Have my shower, and veg (I workout in the evening) then I am starved. I couldn't wait any longer even if I wanted to. Thanks for the suggestion.

I was wondering if that was why I was so hunger, but that makes sense I just was not sure. I am definitely going to try a smack pre and post workout on the days I work out hard and see if that helps. Thanks for the confirmation I was wondering if the bottom dropped out of my stomach or something. I couldn't believe how hunger I was. Maybe I better put a lock on the fridge before I go workout so I can't eat us out of house or home when I am finished.
