3 day breaks between "weeks"

For some reason I went into this thinking it was a workout every other day. I understand the concept of needing the rest days in between, but is the 3 day break necessary or could you just continue this as an every other day program? I tend to get lazy if I have too many days of not working out and I really like the idea of seeing those numbers progress every other day.

If you work out M, W, and F there's only a two day break, max. I don't know about people that have been doing this for a while, but I relished every moment of those two days off, and likely will each time.

Of course, this is coming from the girl that can't even squat half the recommended starting weight, so don't listen to what I say too much - I'm only on week (weak) two.

Its typically done MWF or TThSa.
So as Myth said, its only 2 days off (SaSu or SuM)

I dont see why you couldn't do it as MWFSuTThSaMW...
But when I went to a gym, I ran it MWF so I didnt have to go on a weekend and I was free to travel. Plus there was a group of obnoxious people in the weight room so I wanted to avoid them as well.

I usually do Tuesday Thursday Sunday so my 2 day break is Friday-Saturday.

I usually do M-W-F, so a 2 day break on the weekend. But this week I was sick on Monday morning (food poisoning...), and skipped the gym, so I'm on the Tues-Thurs-Sat schedule for this week. But I really prefer M-W-F, so I'll be taking just 1 rest day on Sunday and then back to the gym MWF next week. I just took an unplanned 3 days rest (did M-W-F last week, then Tues-Thurs-Sat this week, so was off on Sat, Sun, and Mon), and my lifts on Tuesday generally SUCKED.

I'm a Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday person, but the rest days are VERY important (for me anyway)! My muscles need the recovery time. You may find that if you are doing it every other day instead of just the 3-day cycle you'll stall sooner. Why not do something else like HIIT or walking or something in between so you don't get bored?

Whoops, you are all absolutely right. I don't know where I got three days from. I suppose it's because I'm still just beginning that the idea of taking two days off seems disappointing - as I'm always excited to see if I could up the weight on the next workout, but I can definitely see the point in everyone's advice for needing the rest in between. Perhaps those will be outdoor walk days, bicycling, or some other activity instead.

I generally take my 2 day break over the weekend. But last night I was just too bagged. I find the 2 day break a great way to give myself a rest or to have a life but still rarely actually skip a workout. I just move things around as needed.

Oh. I've been doing it every other day! Oops. Guess I should have read up on the program a little more before I started.

Mine changes every other week, depending on my weekend work schedule. I prefer MWF, but sometimes I get off track because of work, so do TThS instead.
I have also noticed that when I miss that Monday, Tuesday is harder regardless of what activity I'm doing.

This week I'm doing mwf and if I'm not dying Saturday morning. I plan to take a weights/cardio class at my gym and then start back up with SL on Mon. Starting a new schedule at work so trying to.do my workout before work when the weight room is less full.
