SO I do not know what is happening with my body right now as I am putting on rather than losing despite doing it all, which quite frankly pisses me off doing all the work and thought energy for opposite results! THe last week and a half I have balanced my meals for the most part, yes there were a couple of indulgences but nothing to sob about. I have exercised at least 4 times a week, though usually it works out as being a daily thing for me now. I got better at my water. If I had stuffed myself full of fast food and junk I would accept that rise in weight as my due for slipping and get back on the bandwagon. But I never got off that bloody wagon in the first place this time!! Sigh.

Natasha, I can so relate. I've been in the same boat for months. Down 1, up 2, etc. It's been driving me insane since, like you, I have been doing everything right. That's why last week I broke up with my scale. Seeing the numbers not go down consistently, and even worse going up, was really starting to discourage me. So for right now, I'm concentrating on getting healthy and believing in the math (if I eat less than I burn I will lose). I'm also changing up my meals a little as well as my exercise routine hoping that will help. I plan on weighing in no more than once a month. Just wanted to let you know, you're not alone.0 -
Howdy all, hope your day is going great. Today is a little bit of a down day for me since I have no running to do. I love getting out of the apartment but the smallest of errands turns into at least a 3 or 4 hour ordeal with the buses. So it's really nice to have a day when I don't have to run. I do have to walk to the bank to get a money order but that's no big deal and besides, it's wonderful exercise. The only downfall to not running all day, is I'm home with the kitchen. When I'm out running, I have my bag packed with whatever meals/snacks/drinks I will need for the day. They are thought out and planned. When I'm home I still have everything planned out but there are all those extra foods in the kitchen and all the extra time to wander in there. Working very hard on remembering food is fuel!

Hello All, I think you guys are doing great!! And a great idea Dee to not weigh so often! Many people may not see the numbers on the scale go down, but they see the inches come off!! Hope you are taking measurements...I learned a bit late to do that. So I am happy with those numbers getting smaller.
Wishing you all a great day!!

Sorry for the hard time your having, thats never fun. But your doing great, and any time spent on the plateau isn't worth giving up and returning to the life your trying to leave behind. Like you said, just make sure your doing everything you can and keep going. I would also double check your MFP goal settings as I know MFP adjusts your daily calorie defect each time you log a weight loss with the system, so I would double check that the calorie deficit is where you want it. Also double check your getting your accurate calorie counts (if your not already you might try weighing your portions) and burns from exercise.
Your probably doing all this already but I thought It was worth repeating. Your doing great!0 -
Thanks guys for the support. I do weigh most foods now most of the time. There are some things I do by cup and spoon still but my cereal, potatoes, meat portions, cheese, milk, pasta, all that gets weighed. Even my becel on my bread or in my potatoes. But there are times when I use a measuring cup or spoon because it is a bit quicker so I may need to snip that in the bud. Because I hear that we usually underestimate our calories a bit and overestimate our exercise burns I try to not eat back my exercise cals or just eat back a third to a half on days when I did a lot. I will check my settings though, and then just keep at it right. There is no other option I am not putting that 70lbs back on so I guess I am just at another one of those head down stages. I do think I might put the scale away if I am still struggling in a week or two though. It is these points that make or break us huh, how many times I have I gotten fed up with it and threw in the towel before. Well not this time. So there.0

Natasha, strange question, but are you measuring and taking realistic pictures? Because honestly, with all the activity you've had lately, I'd guess you are building TONS of muscle while losing fat.... If you are measuring and such and still not noticing a drop, then you're retaining water for your muscles specifically for that building process. And sometimes, you'll put on a few pounds so that your body has the fuel it needs to dump even more in the coming weeks...
That being said, since I don't know how many folks go back and read the previous day's posts, I wanna put my update here, too...
On FitBit, I added Patrick, Dee, and Norah, but here is mine if anyone else wants to add me!! https://www.fitbit.com/user/2GDYDQ I don't know about the other random MFP strangers I've added, but y'all, in this group, that could help. Random strangers doesn't really motivate me much...people I feel like I know, that works...
Got the all clear from my endocrinologist today. BP was awesome (after 2 days??), but he doesn't have a clear direction from here. Wants me to start Metformin (lowest dose once per day) and some water pill that affects testosterone levels but not electrolytes...to help with acne and such.. (PCOS for anyone who doesn't remember, hypothyroid). I'm not insulin resistant per testing, but I'm at the higher end of normal range, so he said it "can't hurt" to try, after listing out some crazy gastro side effects... LOL The "can't hurt" part should prevent anything that wouldn't be undone if I stopped taking it.
The BP med they put me on is Lisinopril, generic for Prinivil. It works by relaxing the blood vessel walls or something from what I remember reading. My horrid reading the other day, after I **know** it was already coming back down was 163/88. And that honestly, isn't the worst I've had (170/100 - though it was a partial equipment malfunction. I've had the bottom number at 95 a few times, and the top in the 150's regularly). Today, it was 116/68. My former normal was between 110-120/70-75, so this is well near that range. Weight was back up today. Must be water weight playing hide and go seek...
And I go to my GP tomorrow, so will inquire as to stress test and such. Want to make sure I'm good to go. Need to get her to RX a blood pressure machine with large cuff so I can medically reimburse for it. But I'm feeling so much better today. My lows are lower (mental fog is stronger and lasts longer), but my balance is so much higher a level than it has been. Looking so forward to it!! I need to see a foot doc too b/c I have strange "tough" spots on my left foot in a couple places....might end up with another referral.
Maybe I can push my doc and get her to RX a barbell system for me to have at home!! I have the money to reimburse for it that I'll lose otherwise.... Hmm....food for thought.Since it is for me BP and thyroid and health specifically, that is claimable on IRS stuff usually (don't know about weights systems), whereas it normally isn't...
Anyway, have a feel fabulous moment, so thought I'd share!
Hugs,
Carly in OK, looking at the bright sunshine today as a positive thing - as long as I'm not in it to get crispy...LOL0 -
Ohhhhh......
Well the end of the day didn't have the best food choices, but that is over now. I had to leave early so didn't have breakfast and worked through lunch, so by the time I was done with my client and had driven home I found myself at Safeway to get a sandwich... and apparently some additional things. Way too much food, but thankfully it was disgusting so I had to stop eating it.
I would like to say that will teach me, but lets be honest.0
