Psalm 22:1-5 (NIV)
1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from my cries of anguish?
2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
by night, but I find no rest.
3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the one Israel praises.
4 In you our ancestors put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.
5 To you they cried out and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises. Psalm 22:3

Sometimes life is hard! You’re seeking to walk with God, but at this moment, life isn’t fun. You go to church and when someone asks, “How are you doing?’ you reply, “Just fine.” In reality, you wish you had the courage to tell the person about the turmoil you’re experiencing.

In Psalm 22, we find David pouring out his soul in anguish to God. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me….? I cry by day, but you do not answer…” He felt God had abandoned him. However, in the midst of his struggle, David came to the realization that God was not only there, but was worth of his praise.

Praise is a choice. We can choose to look beyond ourselves and our circumstances and embrace a broader perspective. It’s a choice to recognize that our circumstances are temporary, and that God’s love is eternal. It’s our choice whether we offer praise to God. What’s your choice today?
