Good morning all! Looks like a beautiful day in Raleigh, I'm going to have to get out there and do some walking. I'm definitely feeling more motivated after a few days of consistency. Got to keep moving forward.
Norah, how do you get so many steps everyday? It takes such a conscious effort on my part. Yesterday, I took a mile long hike, and I was only at 6500 for the day. 20k a day is amazing!
Dee, thanks for sharing the body image link. It's a great article. I read your profile, and I admire your perseverance. You look great! What a journey you've been on...
Hope everyone has a good day...

Once I have a few pennies to rub together, I might do this. But I also have to get my head back in the game. It's getting closer but I'm not there yet....0

Hey all!
When it comes to steps, basically, I have a lot of free time these days. I work 8:15-5:45 9 days out of every two weeks (Friday off every other week), but other than that, I have no major responsibilities. It's about 2,000 steps to get from home to work (home->metro->work), then I usually manage another 4,000 throughout the work day running around doing things and walking on my lunch break, then a 3 mile walk home (6,000-7,500 steps), and usually another 45 minutes to an hour of walking (or running) at the gym, going for a walk with my fiance, or just pacing my apartment while watching TV (6,000-8,500), plus whatever other steps from just doing chores/errands. I was averaging more like 15,000 up until last week when I decided I wanted to eat more so I had to move more hah! I won't be able to keep this up, though. I start classes at the end of August, and 3 weekends in August I'll be traveling (lots of car/plane time). I'm enjoying it while I can!
My fiance got a fitbit a week ago, so he's been a lot more interested in walking with me, which also makes it easier and more fun to get those extra steps in.0 -
Your doing great Caroline, ~49,000 steps a week isn't to shabby. Though I know hoy you feel, looking at those numbers Norah puts out. One day, one day I will move up to the #1 spot, probably when Norah is on a plane :P
The way I think about it is 5miles = 10,000 steps. But it is amazing how just keeping moving a little bit consistently through the day adds up. I've just gotten back to start walking more from the two weeks I was off and focusing on bike riding. The first night out for a long walk and i was amazed how miserable my pace was.0 -
Wow, Norah, you are amazing!0

You are most welcome Caroline. I found it to be quite interesting. Body image is something I'm working very hard on right now with my therapist. And thank you so very much. It has been quite a journey. I still have a ways to go but I've already come farther than I ever could have dreamed so I just keep putting one step in front of the other.0
