Just a practice thread to get us started before the August Challenge! LOL

Had a pretty good weekend, but went off plan (a lot!) on the eating. Back to snacking on all the wrong things, but today is a new day.

I did an 11.1 mile trail run/hike (hard to run when the elevation gain is over 2300 feet!) yesterday with a my husband and a friend. We managed to complete it in about 4 fours, which gives me hope we can do the 23K this Saturday in under 5 hours. But my knee is giving me fits today so I really need to stretch more this week!

Hope everyone is doing well! Can't wait for the August challenge to start... though I will miss checking in most weekends throughout the month because I will be camping or backpacking, so no Wi-Fi and can't check in on the MFP app even if I could get a cell service in the woods!

Weekends will be tough to check in, I will try to though. My weekend was pretty good all though I still struggle to stay on track for the weekends, it's much easier during the week.

Last week was not my best week. Only managed to do Muy Thai 3X and my macros was not that great. No loss but no gain.

Weekends are tough for sure! Great work Stacy… STREEEETCH!
Heron, no gain is a great thing if you felt you were ""off" your plan.
Howie: I'm still super grateful that you'll be tracking the challenge! Thank you again!

My week of "Diet Deload" started yesterday and I am a basket case! Part of the purpose of this week is for me to mentally take a break from stressing about diet. Well, it is having the opposite affect. I am not tracking and eating what seems reasonable but I am stressing all the decisions without a pocket tracker or "calories burned today" value! I am working on that though. I am enjoying carbs in the evenings. Have not done this in MONTHS outside of a carbnite. It may be longer. Can't remember when I wasn't ultra low carb. So I just had some corn tortillas at dinner in the form of chicken tacos.
I am told by Jef that I should expect a weight gain this week but nothing we can't knock off quickly as it should be mostly inflammation or water weight gain. We shall see!!
I was on such a roll the first 2 weeks of his plan. Last week (week 3) I had a ton more calories than the first two weeks and a lot more protein and didn't gain or lose. That might mean that my body is adjusting to this ULC protocol. Another reason to do the diet-deload week. A bigger reset than one carb nite.
    Again.. we shall see!!
Oh, and I had a buttered biscuit also. :)

Well Happy Tuesday folks. Great week so far. Will be checking BF % this weekend to check how well my lifting program is working. scale says up a lb or two but still within 5lbs of what has become my maint weight. If I had to guess at the moment I think my body will shift into losing again in Aug or Sep. Not making any dietary changes at the moment. Great Podcast this week Carol, looking forward to Ben Greenfield next week. Keep on Jammin'!

You are welcome Carol, I don't think I will ever be able to not count calories, I have no control otherwise. It's like with finances, I can't have credit cards because I use them and then I end up in huge debt. Same goes for not tracking calories if I don't, I end up with a huge waste. lol

Carol, just watched your podcast. I adore that tiara and I will add that book to my reading list.
I just signed up for the dietbet and joined a game to lose 10% of my weight in 6 months challenge.
You put $25 a month in the pot and everybody who hits their goal get to split the pot. Which is usually 50% of the contestant. This is going to sound kinda sad but if there is no challenge with a prize I tend to drag my *kitten*... And I REALLY want to see 155lb this year.

Well at the very least your day should be entertaining. Do you have any patients that are good singers or is it pretty painful? :-)

Things are going pretty good this week. Checking the scales today I'm not sure I will have a loss this week but after taking 6 off last week it is kind of expected to be low this week.

HM- Sounds like an interesting day.
Me I am not doing great. I skipped class on Monday and I had a cookie and a glass wine last night
Even though I didn't go over my macros are messed up. Net Carbs are under 60. I hope I can salvage this week.
Friday will be tough. I'm hanging out with my girlfriends.

Doing ok, and still hoping to be down just a wee bit by the end of the week. Today is my birthday, so I am having Kielbasa and Kraut. Good thing the store is 55 miles or I would add a half gallon of ice cream and a couple of huge dollops of peanut butter. :D

Happy Thursday Folks, Today the opportunities to excel abound! Pull your ruck straps a little tighter and keep movin up the hill, yor goal is at the top, you can see it! don't think about the enemy,r the french fries bullets flying by or the hamburger gut grenades complacency and and convenience are throwing at you. Just keep moving! Help your battle buddy when they stumble, keep MOVING and

(update from yesterday post) The A ward Karaoke is not a traditional format, more like a sing along for the guys. Some of them have great voices but even wtih the Words on the screen they have a hard time keeping with it. Still many get up and dance in place and sing along. Research indicates that music and Art are two things that are the very last to go in dementia cases. Therapy is that they are multipath activities in the brain so when one of the channels is blocked the others take over, the more we keep them using them the slower the progression in other areas. Lesson for healthy folks- listen to music every day, learn to paint, or a craft, focus on making something that requires fine motor, gross motor, and cognitive reasoning to produce. Find things to do that make you happy, every hour you spend doing it now, will exponentially improve your quality of life later..

Hello - and Happy belated Birthday to Markd! Hope it was good one... even without the ice cream...

My week is flying by. Hasn't been the best week eating wise (was up .6 at weigh in today, so not too bad), but I have been staying active. Did the trail run/hike on Sunday, and did Zumba on Monday and Wednesday night. Plus lots of walking.

Hope all is well with everyone! I'm just hoping I remember to check in once a day starting tomorrow!!

I did not know that about music. I will keep that in mind. Happy birthday Mark, kielbasa and sauerkraut sound wonderful, of course that's coming from someone of German heritage. Lol

I have done pretty good this week, however the scale is a maintain as of today. I am hoping that tomorrow I will have at least a pound or two lost to show for the week, but I am Not sure.

I forgot to say, this will also be the last day for this thread. I will start the August challenge thread tonight before I go to bed, that way the early risers will have it for tomorrow.
