I have been stalking this forum for weeks, I've gone back maybe seventeen pages while walking on the treadmill and was like "This is what I need to be doing" so I went online and bought a complete Olympic weight set. I started it Thursday and the first thing I thought was "This is AWESOME!" The second thing I thought was "Those ladies rule!" I just wanted to thank all of you for kicking butt, you all motivate more than you know!

Thank you all so much. I hurt everywhere but it's a good hurt. My husband said he's going to get a bumper sticker that says "My wife can bench your wife". So lucky to have his support, I could barely get the bar up for the ohp!

Ha, I love the bumper sticker idea. And the bar was too much for OHP for me when I started, so go you for getting it up there!

I have found OHP the hardest one to progress with, but it gets easier as time goes on. I have been doing it since April and am at 60 with that now..so I progressed 20 from the 40 I started with (I didn't start with the empty bar), compare that to squats, from 40 to 155 in the same 3 months (it was late April when I started so it has been about 3 months). Some progress better with OHP then squats, some are the other way around.

    Hi and welcome...

haha @ bumper sticker...it's great to have their support...my husbands would say the same I suspect or...my wife can squat me...can yours?

OHP is a hard one to progress on...suggestion would be to get some fractionals or weighted collars.

You can get 2.5lbs and down or go to a hardware store and get "big washers" or big magnets...

Yeah I got washers, no way I can go up five pounds at a time. I thought I would be in screaming agony but I feel good. A tired sore but a good sore.
