Upcoming Obstacle Runs 2014

I just finished listening to the latest podcast and it was great once again! I'm excited to hear that Lisa Jarmon will be doing a Tough Mudder in November. Also, thanks for calling me out, Carol. Ha ha! I need the details for TM. Is Lisa on a team? What's the name? What day are they running? Actually, are they running? So many questions. I'm in for this depending on the team plans on doing the event. I don't want to ruin your good time and I've been told I'm not really that fun (and I believe people when they say this), because I don't want to walk it or skip obstacles. Besides that, I'm good for a team as I like to help everyone to accomplish the obstacles and I won't give you any problems for skipping any of them either.

Also, for anyone in Florida or for anyone who would like to travel for a run, I'm registered for the Savage Race in October and would love to have you join me! It's basically a mini Tough Mudder (6 miles) w/really great obstacles. I've done this one several times and it will not disappoint.

Hey Angela. I think you are too much of a for-real mud runner for us. LOL. Well, not "us"… just me. But I totally get where you'r becoming from. If I could keep up with you, I know I'd have a blast challenging myself out there.

Hey - Have you ever created a Sparkpeople account? There is a mud runner / obstacle racer group on there and I saw folks posting about the Central Florida run this fall.

Lisa's team is mostly beginners but I wonder if you would find some like-minded folks who want to jog/run as much as possible. Mud runners LOVE company!

You would create an account and then go to "Spark Groups" and search under "Mud runners" or "Obstacle Racers." In fact, Kristen (kris3b), a listener and new MFP member on the check-in thread is one of the captains of that spark team! She would totally accept your friend request here on mfp and you could ask her questions about the spark group.

Your awesomeness should be shared on more than one forum girl!!! ;)

I'll create an account and check out the Spark Group. I've been a member of the MudRunFun group for about 3 years and I always sign up on their teams. Having said that, I can/will run with anyone that I want to go with (of course). LOL! Their team usually wins the biggest team contests and the benefits are that they usually have at least a couple of tents (no bag check) and sometimes they get free beer or we can bring coolers in to the events. See where my head is at? It's all about the party! I'm not really very hard core at all. :)

    Okay Angela,
There's Hard Core.. and then there's Hard Core Party. Either one works.
