Anyone going to watch this one? I grew up in Colorado, can't imagine climbing those hills :)

Also, anyone ever see the movie "American Flyers" way back in the 80s? A similar-sounding bike race called "Hell of the West" was the major plot point :) Might have to give it a watch again...

It's a spiritual successor to the Coors Classic (it's the race American Flyers used loosely in inspiration). I watched what I could last year and really enjoyed it,so yeah I'll catch what I can. Bums me out as I'm about a days drive away and there's no way I could get there now if I wanted to watch live in person.

And yeah, now that I actually care about cycling I need to watch that movie again.

I'm thinking a double feature - Breaking Away and American Flyers (same director) :)

I have to work for most of it but I did volunteer to be a course marshall on the 24th as they come flying through Wheatridge.

Maybe I'll get a picture or two if the crowd is behaving and not pulling stunts like I saw some of the Tour spectator folks do. My son will be there so perhaps I'll get him to do the pictures.

I've set the Sky+ box to record it on eurosport, past 3 years at least one stage has been unwatchable due to picture breakup, so theres no way in hell I'm staying up to watch it live, only to get 3 hours of digital noise and the commentators trying hard to fill time until the static cameras at the finish line.

Watched it last night... WTF were the race marshals playing at... Let the riders do the dangerous bit of the descent, then pull them over and neutralise it. Bigger **** up than the attempted neutralisation in the Giro this year.

Let th racers race, I say... If they're mad enough to take the risks in a second tier race, then fair play to em...
