Fitbit not synching should I leave MFP

I have tried everything to make this work...I am now emailing back and forth with the support team. I LOVE MFP, but yesterday my fitbit gave me 354 extra calories due to my exercise and MFP showed nothing....has anyone else had this issue and found a solution??
And I have done everything suggested in the MFP Fitbit forum

The sync issues are kind of weird because often they don't effect everyone. Mine have been syncing fine for a long time. But the truth is, I am really not that reliant on the sync between MFP and Fitbit. Often the food I would search for isn't on Fitbit or not listed in a way that I could accurately log the serving size. Some people log food to fitbit and are satisfied though. There are at least 3 maybe 4 nutrition tracking apps that can link to fitbit--they all work a little different and have their own way of syncing and their own quirks. So there are options for everyone.

I was using Fitbit first, I just don't like Fitbit for food logging. I love it for activity tracking. If I log exercise, I either log it directly to Fitbit or through a linking service that logs to Fitbit directly. I don't log exercise on MFP anymore. (It is fine to do so, just it makes the reliable synching more important than it needs to be). So all my calorie burn information is on my Fitbit (assuming my device and the fitbit.com website can sync). I know I need to eat a certain amount less than my Fitbit calorie burn, and I actually also know what I usually burn (your average calorie burn for the previous week is in the weekly email report from Fitbit). For example, if I know my average burn is 1800 and I want to lose 1/2 pound a week--I will usually be fine to eat 1550 and probably be fine. Some days I'll end up a little high and others a little low, but over the week it will be fine (if my activity pattern is similar to the previous week). This would put me a little above where MFP starts me, but actually pretty similar to where my MFP allowance usually ends up.

I have tried 3 of the food tracking apps that link to Fitbit (I am meaning to do a little experiment and use each for a week then blog about how they compare). I think there is another now that I haven't tried. I think MFP is the easiest to use (though haven't used the others recently) and has the largest database. But for some reason it also seems to have the most synching issues (though I haven't used the others recently enough to know how they currently perform). I don't know whether it is because MFP has so many users or whether the sync between MFP and Fitbit is just more complicated than the others.

Thanks for your reply. It seems that when I track my food in MFP (which I agree with you, is better) it does show up in my fitbit so maybe I should just log the food in MFP and then figure out calories (up or down) according to Fitbit

I am curious as to what other nutritional programs you've tried that worked with fitbit.
