Congratulations, that is lovely news and extra incentive to get healthy.
My baby niece was born in May this year and I thought then it would be lovely if she never had to know me as the fat auntie. I hope to be right sized by time she is aware enough to be building her memories of me.
Congratulations on tracking too, I definately find it helpful.

WhooooHoooooo Julie!!!! Way to go! Celebrate the small successes and eventually those successes come more often. Btw, I don't think I have said anything about your upcoming WLS. I personally know it's a difficult decision to make but a very important one at the same time. You are going into the surgery with your eyes wide open which will make you more successful. If you ever have any questions or concerns, either pre or post surgery, I'm just a message away. I know the surgery has changed a bit since I had mine 8 years ago but essentially it's the same. Also congrats on the new granddaughter!! How exciting.

Life has been crazy around here. I've been without cable and internet since this past Saturday. Money didn't stretch far enough to pay the necessities and the cable/internet bill so it didn't get paid. Besides, what good is cable/internet if the electricity is off, lol. Last Friday Michael (my SO) had hernia surgery and has been recovering from that. Yesterday I ended up taking Cody (my DS) to the Urgent Care and it turns out he has an ear infection. Just call me Nurse Barnett, lol. Surprisingly, during this crazy time I have actually found time each day to carve out to do something good for ME. That's something I wouldn't have done even just a few months ago. Feels good.

    Have a great day all!!

Congrats, Julie! I'm not sure which is more exciting - the success of a new habit forming - or the celebration of a new life!! I think they are both huge wins...

PersistentSoul, I agree...it would be nice to be able to have a first impression somewhere that made us feel good about ourselves!

Dee, impressive to see you juggling your nursely duties and making time for yourself!! I need to figure out how to rewire my brain to do the same!

All: Fiance's training for new job got cancelled this week because he doesn't have his driver's license. He hasn't tried here since his vision and hearing are bad enough to make most driving unsafe... He may not be able to get this job. I have discovered that I have quite a lot of anger and a sense of injustice as to how our disabled are treated in this country/world... Anyone have realistic suggestions? Lawsuit is too expensive. Benefits are impossible to get. It seems like society would just rather kill off those with any kind of disability so that "society" can move on to those deemed important and valuable!! GRRRRR.

    Hugs, all...

Does he need to drive for the job, if yes I think it is fair enough. If no then that is ridiculous. No advice as I do not know the system over there but sending a hug.

Congrats on the new grandchild Julie, I like Persistents idea of not having them see her as the fat aunt. Maybe you can use that to track yourself to a week!!!

Getting Dean ready for school hours again so bed time is back to 7.30 from 8/8.30 which of course means he is up earlier now too. 7am this morning. He is fine, I blurrily made him breakfast, acted the bad mum and put on comics, then fell asleep again for an hour lol.

Congratulations, Julie, on both the logging and the new granddaughter!!!

Dee, you're always taking such good care of the people you love, and managing to take time for yourself as well is a huge accomplishment. I look up to that so much.

Carly, I am so sorry about your fiance's job. I hope things turn around. I'm totally with you on how people with disabilities are treated. It's completely unacceptable. When it comes to disability benefits, there are some law firms out there that will only charge if the government approves the appeal for benefits. In many disability cases, people are owed back pay from the point at which they were disabled, and often the charges from the lawyer are less than that lump sum. It might be worth googling around to see if there are lawyers/firms like that in your area.

Natasha, good luck adjusting to the school year! Moms have to catch their rest wherever and whenever they can :)

Congrats on the new grandchild. I have two and they are a blessing. I wish I had thought of getting healthier when they were babies. Better late than never.
