Just complete diet trial waiting for approval.

I just complete my 6 month diet trail and am waiting for approval for my vertical sleeve procedure. I have done really well with the trial and am very nervous during this downtime as I wait to hear. Im hoping it doesn't take a long time. I hope I'm doing the right thing planning on having surgery.

    This is a very supportive place to be for people who have had VSG or are on the journey to have it.
    I too just completed the 6 month pre-op program a few weeks ago.
    I have an appt. for a consult with the surgeon in 9 days. I'm getting very excited about it but somewhat nervous too.
    I live in Canada and our health care system is a little different here.
    I am hoping that the surgeon will support my preference to have VSG.
    I have a lot of sensitivities & think I might be a prime candidate for complications with RNY.
    I'm just not sure how much say I will have in which procedure it will be. I will soon find out.
    There are a lot of really informative threads on this site so feel free to explore and read a lot of the ones that apply to you at this point.

    Congratulations on your completion. Mine starts at my doctor's appointment this Thursday and it runs five months. I have to walk a tightrope between losing steadily and not dropping below the required BMI. I am at 42.7 and the requirement is 41.

    Congratulations! I'm a month away from being able to go for insurance approval then I'll get my date. Looking forward to watching your journey.

    I had the VSG done 7/7/14. I will be happy to lend any info you may have. I know about the nervous thing!! Good luck!!

    I have also just finished my 6 month diet period, I go for a psych eval on Thursday and then as long as everything is okay they will submit my information for approval. I'm getting excited but really nervous! Good luck! :)
