Well done Pat , that must feel better. I have so far lost 10% and although no one has noticed that i look any different, i feel lighter when moving about. I had to lose about 5 stone before anyone noticed last time. I remember someone i used to work with saying " have you lost weight?" and me replying yes around 5 stone ! People just look with disbelief. It is really anoying that so much effort has to go in when much bigger than average before anyone notices. That is why for me i find it is very important to be self motivated and to be involved with other people on similar journeys.

My goal for september is just to lose some more excess baggage. I lost a lot in last 6 weeks so I expect it will slow down , but I would like to lose some more lb's this month

Good job Pat. Its a great feeling isn't it?

My goal for September is to not fall into the fast food/pizza trap we always seem to fall into when school football season starts. Games tend to coincide with our family dinner time so it is so much easier to just pick up dinner on the way home. Not this year. Over the next two months we will be having games 2-3 times a week due to three different levels of teams for the boys. I can see it very easily undoing everything we have accomplished and I know if I do it once it will become the norm. I have dinner in the crockpot and it will be ready when we come home.

I have noticed one big change now that I have lost some weight that didn't really show up until the first game last week. Sitting on bleachers hurts my butt. I can't really see the difference in myself but let me tell you I must have lost quite a bit of cushion back there. It didn't used to bother me but boy can I feel it now. I think I may have to get a cushion or something.

Pat, that is awesome! Congrats on reaching this goal.

My goal this month is to not let the start of school keep me from getting to the gym. It is easy to find an excuse, but it is something that I am planning for so I should be able to avoid it. Other than that I just hope to keep losing some weight and slowly inching towards my weight goal.

Congratulations, Pat! Your hard work is really paying off.

My goal for this month is to get back to my routine: logging every day, gym every other day. August was just a mess for me!
  • Awesome job, Pat! 20% is huge! Keep at it!

My goal is to walk 2 miles every day, in addition to my daily routine. I've been trying to inch my step goal up and that's a key to success for me.

I needed some recovery time after a long visit from my mother in law and getting my kids back into the homeschool swing again, so took the last two days off and really noticed the difference. I also ate out FOUR times last week, yikes! And, of course, gained 5 pounds in the process. Three of those pounds are gone already, and I think the other two will be gone soon enough, but yikes it felt awful to gain that back and feel cruddy with all that junk in my system. I have another big meal out on Sunday, daughter is turning 13, so I will try to be more cautious and remember how badly bloated I felt last week.

Thanks everyone. I've been waiting for my 20% goal because I have a discount coupon to really great pizza place and have been avoiding pizza till I could reach this goal. i don't usually have food goals but this is a craving I have been waiting for a long time. Don't worry I will bike the 14miles to get to the pizza.

My goal this month is to get a new bike. Seeing as it took me six months to make a decision about buying a new car I could make this stretch out for forever. But I am tired of riding this old MTB and need something better. It is also my goal to get my hair cut (thats been two years of delaying). It is also my goal to find a new bike goal. Originally it was a two day tour through the sacramento river delta but between needing to get a new bike and train for the ride I don't think I will be ready by next month (but you never know). So I need a new goal or activity to set my sights on and obsess about.

    Fantastic job, Pat!
What an inspiration- keep on keepin' on! :)

My goal for this month is to work on my walking distance- to race walk 2 miles/1.4 miles on alternate days. I'm also working very hard to keep the emotional (and bored) eating at bay as my oldest just started kindergarten Tuesday and it's pretty bittersweet for me.
