Today is a better day...

Yesterday all food looked, tasted and smelled awful - my morning smoothie tasted like vomit, my beans and greens that I was soo excited about for lunch made me gag, and I was nauseated, but a little hungry and very very tired. I went to bed early. This morning, I was able to get on the elliptical, and had my smoothie (and some pancakes - hubby wanted to make sure that if I started feeling queezy later today, at least I would have some yummy in my tummy). I feel better today, which makes me anxious because last time, there was no reprieve at all for weeks. But I am going with it...
How is everyone else feeling today?

Ugh, I don't miss the days were everything was nauseating. I'm so happy I'm back to my regular eating habits.
Pancake seems like a nice and bland food to eat if you're feeling nauseous. Smoothies and beans really made me want to yack when I was feeling nauseous. Pizza and fries were another safe food for me.
Glad you're feeling better. How far along are you? Once I hit 12 weeks, the nausea disappeared overnight. So weird...
I'm currently 21 weeks and haven't gotten any weird cravings. If anything, I'm enjoying healthier food and homemade stuff.0 -
I am about 6weeks 5 days. This is the time that my nausea hit before and did not let up until 12 weeks or so. I remember last time, salad tasted like chemicals! I haven't gotten to that point yet. I have been eating fairly healthy and my salads have been tasting good! I love to cook, and have been chopping up fresh salads and fruit for my family daily, and yet this past week, total exhaustion! I looked at hubby last night and said, I don't care what we have, you have to make it, I cannot think anymore! I just don't have the mental wherewithal to figure out what to make, let alone make it. I usually cook healthy foods full of veggies, so I am hoping I lose this exhaustion soon!!0

I was eating fresh veggies from a veggie tray and thought "These taste so chemically!" - makes me feel more normal to read that others have had that thought too!
I'm almost 8 weeks and thank GOODNESS I haven't thrown up yet this pregnancy (with my first two I was throwing up several times a day starting at 5 weeks, until at least 20 weeks and then sporadically until labor and delivery). I'm SUPER nauseated, but so far everything has stayed down. *fingers crossed*
I have a crockpot soup on at home, it smelled great when I started it, so hoping that it still smells great and tastes awesome when I get home this evening!0 -

LOL. I remember the days where I would have something planned for dinner that sounded good in the morning, but when I got home, not so much. DH was a good sport and simply ate what I felt like having at the moment.0 -
I remember a few weeks during my first tri with my last pregnancy that I couldn't eat anything other than buttered toast for breakfast, pb&j for lunch and chicken & mashed potatoes (neither w/seasoning) EVERY SINGLE DAY! It was horrible! So far, I haven't experience that yet this go around, but then I don't remember when it started last time so for all I know it could be right around the corner! Although, in a way, I think it's starting because I made lasagna a month ago and froze the leftovers then went to make the leftovers a few nights ago, and couldn't stand the smell! Hubby ate it, but all I wanted was cheese and triskets. I still haven't been able to eat the lasagna, which is a bummer because I love that recipe!!0

Aversions don't seem to have any rhyme or reason -I thought for sure this soup I made ages ago and froze (and then never ate because it looked gross) would be the least palatable thing imaginable last night. Instead, I couldn't get enough of it. Thankfully it was the one healthy thing I could stomach yesterday.
I walked through the grocery store today determined to buy whatever spoke to me. Hundreds of thousands of products, and everything looked as disgusting as my son's diaper poop.
Six weeks five days for me, too! I remember Week 7 was the toughest one for me last time around, so I'm bracing for the worst. Please, baby, let me be pleasantly surprised! It's my first week back at work and I won't have any energy to deal with the misery. I'm thinking if it gets bad, I'll cancel classes -but you can't cancel the first week of class!0 -
I couldn't eat anything but cereal, sandwiches, and carbs until about 15-16 weeks. I'm 18 weeks & only feel good about half the time. I never got any sickness and very little nausea with my first. At least I'm eating somewhat better now. I'm hoping I can eat cooked meals again soon!0
