Hi gang, I am going into stage two eating tomorrow.. whoo hoo (was getting reluctant of the stuff i was drinking already.) QUESTION: What foods do you recommend pureed? I notice that some doctors have different views on when to go unto stage three. Some suggested soft foods on the 4th week while others have suggested 3rd week.
Comments? How did you all do it??? Hurry, I'm anxious!!! lol :drinker:  :flowerforyou:

Noodleless "lasagna"
Ricotta cheese blended with parmesean, mozarella garlic and spinach and a bit of egg beaters, top with a bit of shredded cheese and pasta sauce and bake. Yummers.
"Little Pile o Mexican Heaven"
Slice of polenta, (can be found next to the eggs in most grocery stores)
Well pureed, seasoned taco meat
Shredded cheese
Dab o greek yougurt
Dab o guac (I use whole guacamole singles since they're smaller packs you throw away less before it turns brown)
Make a pile with the polenta and taco meat on the bottom. Kinda makes a soft "tostada" kind of thing
You can also find lots on theworldaccordingtoeggface.com.0 -
For the 3rd week? I was told only pureed foods.0

For the pureed stage, I also liked the ricotta cheese with sauce on it. I also ate mashed cauliflowers, mashed up low-fat corned beef hash (looks like dog food but surprisingly good and high in protein), yogurt, cottage cheese, guacamole, very smooth hummus, etc. I also made meals for my kids in the slow cooker and used a hand blender on my portion - thai chicken soup, chicken soup, etc. I also took the stick blender to some canned soups but I didn't really like any of them.
I was on pureed foods for 2 weeks before moving on to soft foods. I'm in that stage now and it is 6 weeks long, but really not that restrictive. I eat a lot of the same foods as in pureed but have added in eggs, tuna fish, chicken salad, string cheese, fish, ground turkey, deli meat (sliced thin), and slow cooker chicken meals.
Everything on bikrchk's list is pureed. I couldn't do polenta, though - too thick for me. And I didn't add veggies (spinach) at this stage, unless I ran it through the stick blender.0 -
Oh ok bikrchk. thought everything had to go in a blender. But you're right the polenta is blended and will sort of melt when you eat it. Oh golly gee .... so scared to introduce anything but liquids to my new stomach. Ai ....yi .... yi ....
I am glad I will be doing this because i just got so sick of protein drinks, cannot eat another bite of jello or yogurt, My saving grace, although only counts as water, is popsicles. Yesterday I absolutely did not want to eat at all! All I had was water & 3 popsicles. So getting into something that has normal tastes will be heaven for me!!!
I appreciate all your responses and suggestions!!
