is she too young to start SL?

    I would recommend asking a doctor... lots of teenage boys lift weights but I'm not sure they progress so quickly or how heavy lifting would affect your daughters growth plates and such.

    My daughter is 14 and last time she broke her finger (yeah, she's done this type of thing a few times...lol, sports) they said her growth plates were closed. So, at this point I'm not too worried about her lifting weights with me if she's interested.

    I was lifting in HS by 16, so I don't think it's an issue.

    I figure as long as your daughter has gone through puberty and hit her last major growth spurt, her growth plates are probably closed as well.

    thanks for the responses.

    she is a big girl. i'm 5.3" and she's easily 5.6" and her weight is very close to mine. i'm 179 lbs and i figure she's about the same.
