New to the Group

Hi All,

Been a musician for many many years. Berklee Graduate and also trying to get healthy. I mostly record at home for myself but have never stopped playing. I seem to have a new found drive to create music now that i have been getting my health in order almost 60 pounds down since June 20th.

Welcome! Fellow Berklee-ite here too. I attended back in the late '80s, although I didn't wind up graduating from there.

Congrats on the 60 pounds. That's pretty impressive in such a short time!

I was there from 89 to 91. I took 6 semesters in 2 years and tested out of a bunch of theory classes etc. It was a large undertaking to graduate that fast and certainly did not help my eating habits. Thank God I never smoked LOL.

Nor did it help that Supreme's Pizza was right across the street and Little Steve's around the corner... :-)

We might have unknowingly crossed paths. I was there from '87 to '92, but was only an official student for the first part of that. I would still play for the occasional studio session or Caf show for my friends who were still attending though.

I really enjoyed living in Boston back then. Got a chance to go back just a couple of months ago. Amazing what all has changed (and what hasn't!)

Yea I think i ate that pizza across the street every day. (certainly not NY Pizza) Plus the 30 bucks a week in Dunkin Doughnuts coffee. I loved living in Boston for the 2 years i was there. I saw and played so much good music. I played with most of the free from Jazz guys at the time. We used to reserve the practice rooms for 4 hours and just play non stop. I hated staying in my roach infested apartment so I pretty much lived in the practice rooms.. which was a good thing.
