Avoiding a Drinking Problem

I was responding to a posting about water during exercise in another forum.
Over the past few years, I've collected quite a few links about the absurdity of drink, drink, drink but I hadn't found this document from NIH.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21346332
Very interesting stuff.
One statement that really caught my eye was:
"The presence of thirst, not of water loss, may be the biological signal that impairs exercise performance in those who drink less than their thirst dictates during exercise."
That fits right into Noakes' discussion of the "central governor" theory as discussed in his "The Lore of Running". Intriguiging.
