Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. ~ Ephesians 4:29

I’ve been struggling with this ‘message’ for a couple weeks now. I feel God convicted me of my negative speech and I started checking out scripture. If this is for you I pray you received it from GOD not Zee and apply it to whatever situation you are speaking negativity over. I’m a work in progress but I am trying to do this with God’s help. I know I can’t change myself but God can change me. Perhaps this is for me only and if so I’m baring my soul in social media.

Have you ever thought that every time you speak negative/critical about your spouse, child, parent, boss, co-worker, church family, politicians, people you don’t know but know of, finances, job or any other situation that you are opening up the door for satan to slip in and do his job? We use the scripture of ‘speaking things that are not as though they were’ when it is to our benefit but don’t even consider that aspect when we are constantly bombarding someone’s spirit with negative criticism. Surely not everything that person does is bad. Find something good and dwell on that aspect of their character/personality and speak positive toward them ~~ PRAY FOR THE PERSON/SITUATION.

As Christian, we need to stop blocking God’s blessings by speaking negatively. God wants to bless us but we become a hindrance to ourselves, our family, friends and co-workers in receiving Gods blessings when we speak things that are in opposition of Gods Word. Your negative speaking not only affects your life (including circumstances in your life), but it also impacts the life’s of others as well. –

Truth be told, words are very powerful and if used the wrong way, can hurt you AND those you love. God tells us in His word that “death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21). In other words, you will eat what you speak; the outcome of your future is a byproduct of what you speak whether good or bad. Based upon scripture, your words can do two things for you, your family & friends: curse or bless.

1 Peter 3:9, combat negative comments, Ephesians 4:29, positive speaking, Proverbs 12:18, Proverbs 15:1, Proverbs 15:30, Proverbs 17:22

If positive thinking is powerful for improving ourselves, imagine how the power of positive speaking can improve situations with others! The Bible has much to say about the power of positive (and negative) speaking, and how to respond to others.

Here are just a few verses:
Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. ~ Proverbs 12:18

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. ~ Proverbs 15:1

Words are powerful – they are seeds that yield a good or bad harvest (depending on what you speak). There is power in finding scripture(s) on your particular situation and speaking what God has to say about it instead of your flesh. God wants to bless you. Don’t let your mouth get in the way of your blessing.

If you feel this applies to any part of your life just pray and ask God to help you to speak life not death, to place His large loving hand over your mouth when negative words or thoughts starts flowing and to help you replace it with good and positive words toward the person or situation. Ask Him to wash it all away with the precious blood of Jesus ~ to cancel it out the negative and replace it with positive by the Power in Jesus’ name and to turn every idle/negative word or thought that you have had to something positive and blessings toward the person or situation.
