Hello Mothers. I had my 1st child 8 months ago and my goal is to lose 30 lbs by her birthday.. (My daughter was born New Years Eve).. And I would love to read any success stories of mothers who worked at losing the weight and how you did it...

I am currently doing 30 min of Cardio 4 days and another 30 min of strength trainingg the same days. I just started last. week.

I lost 66lbs after my 2nd baby...all the baby weight and more...in about 18 months. I just exercised and ate well.

Then I got pregnant again and despite exercising and logging I still gained. Now she's 4.5 months old and I'm losing again. Still a few months from pre-pregnancy weight, but hoping to be there for her first birthday on May Day!

With my son I was 157 lbs to start at 5'2"/5'3" (overweight). 180 day of birth. 157 lbs 8 days postpartum. Stayed there until I joined a gym 6 months postpartum. The next two months (before I got pregnant again) I about 2 classes a week and lost 10 more lbs. Eating normally/a lot for breastfeeding. [23 lb weight gain 33 lb loss]

With my daughter I was 147 when I got pregnant. 193 lbs day of birth (EEEK!) 2 months postpartum I was 171 (-22 lbs of 46). Found MFP started counting calories. I think 1700? And walking with the kids. Lost the rest of the 24 and another 12 by the time I got pregnant again 7 months postpartum (so 5 months and 36 lbs). [46 lb weight gain 58 lb loss]

This last pregnancy daughter #2 I started 135. Delivery day 157. 3 months postpartum I was 135. I was walking some, I haven't been lately. I did 30 day shred for 25 days (but then started getting spd pain (which I didn't have in any pregnancies?). 4 months postpartum I am 131 (I've gotten down to 130, but I sometimes go crazy over the weekend). [22 lb weight gain 26 lb loss]

For me, breastfeeding, some mild walking and 1700 calories is enough for me to lose weight. I don't know if this helps or not, but it's possible! And congrats on your New Year's Eve baby! My older daughter was New Year's Day 2013. Best of luck on losing the weight!

I lost 30 pounds after my first in 6 months. It should have been less but I wasn't consistent for a couple of those months. You can do it!! :) I'm working on losing weight after my second. I just tracked my calories and stopped eating out, walking. This time around I am tracking and thanks to nursing I get to eat a ton. :)

I started out around 160 when I had my daughter. I didn't gain too much with her and I came within like 10 pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight and then it was Christmas and things didn't go so well so I never really lost it all. Then I got pregnant with my son and I really didn't worry about my weight much so I ended up around 185 when all was said and done. In February I started MFP and I go swimming at least twice a week for a half hour and I try to get some good walks in as well. I've almost lost 30 pounds since then which I'm happy with! I have noticed that when I stop swimming regularly I don't lose weight, even if my calories are low. That more intense exercise is really important, even if it's only a couple times a week!

I gained over 50lbs during my pregnancy, and am currently 3lbs from prepregnancy weight, baby will be 4months this weekend. I have just been counting calories, walking/jogging 2 miles a couple of days a week, and breastfeeding. Baby was 10lb8oz, so a lot of weight came off with her, lol. I still have about 20-30 more lbs that I would like to lose.
