Hair loss vitamins/supplements

I would love if I could get some recommendations of hair vitamins and supplements. I have Biotin and D, and do castor oil massaged. Just would love to see what everyone uses and likes. I know certain brand pills are too large.

I take the following as prescribed by my medical team...
Multivitamin morning and night, (I use a women's "petite" mutlivitamin as its easier to choke down)
Fishoil morning and night, (again a "petite" version, kind of a round peral sized thing)
D3 1000 ui in the AM
    Biotin in the AM
    B12 in the AM
High dose iron at noon, (never taken with any otehr supplements as this can affect absorption)
1 Time-release calcium citrate in the evening. (This is a "horse pill" but I'm 1 year out and can make it work now. Early on, I was doing the calcium citrate chews 3x per day, avoiding timing around my iron supplement)
  • Ever heard of taking Methylsulfonylmethane(MSM)?
  • I've also read good things about horsetail.

It also helps to use care when styling your hair!

I was talking to my stylist about the hair loss that seems to come with the surgery. She said hair is protein, so the most important thing you can do is make sure you are getting all of your protein in every day. There is the Nioxin shampoo that is supposed to help with thinning hair too.

My hair loss stopped with the Biotin. I've also heard good things about a products called Hair, Skin and Nails. My nutritionist said making sure to get enough protein is essential in keeping the hair loss to a minimum. My cousin who had gastric bypass about 15 years ago bought protein shots from GNC because she wasn't getting enough in her diet. It worked.
