What's your evening eating pattern?

This is my usual evening routine:
1. Work after the bell final-prepping tomorrow's lessons until around 5.
2. Drive home (26 miles).
3. Cook dinner.
4. Eat dinner.
5. Walk dog.
6. Do school work.
7. Short burst of housework.
8. Collapse in front of telly or with a book, for an hour before sleep.
9. Asleep by midnight, up at 6.30-ish.

(My daughter is grown up, so the evenings of helping with homework and taxi-ing around are now a thing of the past, so theoretically I have more time to myself)
My main problem is being absolutely starving by the time I eat and being tempted to snack while I'm cooking. I'm curious to know what other people do, because I don't have the energy to think of a better way for myself :)
