Thought this would be a good group to join :o) Early next year my little family will be moving all the way from Middletown, Pa to Monterey, Ca!! My husband has recently enlisted in the Air Force and after boot camp (he leaves Jan 10, 2012) we will be relocated while he does his tech training for his job. :o) It will be quite an adventure, but i cant help but be a little scared of the whole change. I have heard great things about the area where we will be living and how there is a ton of things to do outside to stay active (which is wonderful since my 2 year old loves being out side.) That is all i have to say for now....:o)

Monterey is a beautiful place! Like the rest of the state, there are LOTS of things to do. And being in roughly the middle of the state, you will be a day trip to ANYTHING.

I am originally from Georiga and I have also lived in New Jersey. We have been in California for almost 11 years. I love it here. Seriously, I am never leaving. You will love Monterey. It is so pretty there. So pretty.

Vista is super close to all sorts of other stuff too... And look at your local MWR to get discounts on tickets to places like Lego Land, Knottsberry farm, Magic Mountain, and Disney does discounts too.
    Also!
Last I heard, Seaworld offers military members 4 free passes per year, so your little family can spend a day there for free (minus the cost of food/drink, lol)

I think yours is free since he's 2, but you'll want to double check. That means 2 free days! I like to *cough* sneak in sandwiches and baggies of fruit into the unused diapers since of Course I need to bring, like, 10 just in case! At Seaworld, they sell $10 cups you can refill for about $1, and something similar for popcorn. No I had no problem eating popcorn and drinking diet soda all day, I was walking it off, and pushing a stroller!

lol, we do that now with Hershey park...although i didn't have to hide the food among diapers, lol, they don't care if you pack lunches to take in.
    Thanks for the info!
