So dear Constance dropped a bombshell in the last episode. That she indeed was Tate's mom. Some of us have thought this for awhile so it was not that shocking. What did surprise me is that she told Violet. Why? And does anyone think there was something extra in the tea she offered Violet?

I think she told Violet because she wants to drive a wedge between her and Vivien. Especially after losing Addie, Violet probably represents the daughter she always wanted. Except for the fact that she poisoned her cupcake...... Hmm.....

Hmmm. This is a good point.

I am guessing Tate cannot know about Addy since he is "sensitive" and he will probably go crazy with grief. And we all know it's never good when Tate goes crazy. But my question is, how can he not know?

Why does Constance know so much about this house anyways? She gives you the impression that she knows exactly what all goes on in the house, that you need to be on the property at death to be able to "come back"..
Does she know about Rubber Man? Does she know what lies in the basement?

Indeed. Constance knows so much. I wonder if she is related to Norah in someway...?

in the first eppisode she said she use to live there which is why the kids said tate is hiding behind his mother. I also am trying to figure out tate cause those kids said they would have been 34 and tate is not so is he indeed dead>? but then they said they should kill him but cant if he is dead ohhh so many questions lmao

I think the tea had something in it and i like how violet just had a ciggy instead but i wonder why Constance is confiding in her it seemed odd to me.

I thought so too, very odd that Constance would be telling Violet all this, there has got to be underlying reasons.....and isn't it equally weird that Addie just died, but yet there are no cops, no investigators since it was a hit and run...I mean, they did show Constance putting makeup on Addie that one last time....but it was just strange to me....

Constance killed the maid and her husband while she lived in the house which is how she knows that people that die on the property come back as ghosts.
I think she told Violet about Tate because she knows they are involved and Tate is sensitive. If he went on a killing spree and doesn't remember he did, he's probably in denial so Constance feels like he needs to be protected.
Maybe she keeps trying to poison Violet so that Tate will have a friend forever...

I used to think Constance tried to poison Vi because she was jealous, but now I kinda think that also, that she wants Tate to have a friend....forever...

Why do people keep saying poison like she tryed to kill violet lol it was epikak all it would do is make you throwup... And we can't even be sure it was both truely intended for her since she knew Vivian was doubting her pregnancy and wondered why she didn't have morning sickness.

Constance and her children know exactly what's in that house , I belive her other children are in that house as well

I think Constance had mentioned that in some cases epikak could be fatal....maybe not though, but I thought she did....and I remember when she gave it to Viv she made it clear that it was strictly for Violet...

Anyone ever noticed the references to violets? Constance often has them on her dress, in the dining room, the stained glass in the windows are full of them.....

I had not noticed that. So I did a little search on Google and found this (emphasis on what's between the asterisks):

In dreams, violets are positive. For instance, according to folklore, dreaming of violets is a sign that a fortune is coming your way. It is also supposed to mean your future spouse will be your junior. **The violet does have a more sobering side, though, in that the flower is associated with death--and resurrection. ** The symbolism likely springs from antiquity, when a number of myths featured violets in the death of heroes and even an Earth God named Attis. Combining this death symbolism with modesty and maidenhood creates a meaning for violet of death too soon. Shakespeare's tragic Ophelia was linked to violets in "Hamlet."

yes she said epikak given in a large amount with cause you to die. It makes sense you throw up too much you can bleed from the inside and dehydrate and she handed it to viv and said its only for voilet and said it more then once in the eppisode she planned it for voilet

i thought it was odd the emergency person did not think it was odd she was trying to drag her kid to the house. i mean we know why but still hahaha andit just seems weird she died she was a big part of the show just means no one is safe huh. if you look on the sight it never tells you in advance who is still acting in them maybe cause no one is safe to not kill off?

I really love Constance's character. I think Constance knows Violet and Tate have a connection, and she isn't sure yet how to handle Violet. I think Constance is shrewd and manipulative and a survivor who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. I am not not 100% convinced that Constance didn't know *exactly* how the cupcakes would be used - that they would ultimately help *save* Violet. Things might have gone differently had that girl not eaten the cupcake and gotten sick. Maybe it was all lucky coincidence, I don't know.
  • Do you guys think Constance was the driver who hit Addy? That thought did cross my mind.

Wow, if there is meaning behind all these Violets, and Violet being named that, the writers of this show have really done their homework....I just love it♥

I have never thought about Constance being the driver, it was odd that she appeared, meaning that it happened in front of Murder House, but somehow Constance heard the commotion but Violet didn't? Wasn't Vi still in Murder House when the hit and run happened?

Vi had her ipod turned all the way up so it is possible not to hear. Maybe the house won't let you hear certain things. I find it hard to believe that Violet did not hear all the commotion going on between Hayden & Vivian...

I "think" she was... but then again... time seems to have no reference in this show.....

At any rate she should have heard cops/ambulances or at least came home later to caution tape and such.
