    Is San Antonio central enough?

    Why not!

This lead me to thinking what actually makes up Central Texas - so Wikipedia to the rescue! So if your county is listed you are central. If not, we will claim ya anyway!

Central Texas (a part of which is the Texas Hill Country), is a region (and a physiographic section within the Great Plains province, as it pertains to geography[1]) in the U.S. state of Texas. It is roughly bordered by San Marcos to Fredericksburg to Waco, and to Brenham, and includes the Austin–Round Rock, Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood, Bryan-College Station, and Waco metropolitan areas. The Austin–Round Rock and Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood areas are among the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the state. The United States Army's Fort Hood is the largest military installation in the nation.[2] Some of the favorite local cuisines are barbecue and a variation on traditional Mexican food affectionately referred to as Tex-Mex.

The counties make up the core of the Central Texas region are:[3]
    Bastrop County
    Bell County
    Blanco County
    Burnet County
    Coryell County
    Gillespie County
    Hays County
    Lampasas County
    Lee County
    Llano County
    Falls County
    McLennan County
    Milam County
    Travis County
    Williamson County

    As well as:
    Bandera County
    Bexar County
    Bosque County
    Brazos County
    Burleson County
    Caldwell County
    Comal County
    Comanche County
    Fayette County
    Freestone County
    Gonzales County
    Grimes County
    Guadalupe County
    Hamilton County
    Hill County
    Kerr County
    Kendall County
    Kimble County
    Leon County
    Limestone County
    Madison County
    Mason County
    Mills County
    Robertson County
    San Saba County
    Washington County
    Wilson County

I dunno...it is all in what you classify beauty. Houston definitely has a beautiful array of restaurants and shopping facilities!

My sister lives in Round Rock and plays in Austin, too!
  • I heart Austin! I just want a smaller school/community for my kids and its half way for me and my Hubs to drive to our jobs.

  • Hey! I'm in the BCS area! I LOVE that it has warmed up! Especially since my main form of exercise right now is walking instead of driving when possible.
