Activity Points

Hello All!

I am a little confused about the tracking of the activity points. I guess I am used to MFP where the earned calories disappear after the day you earn them. In WW, the activity points are accumulating throughout the week. Does that mean that you can pull from those points like the additional weekly points? I am worried that if I earn 4 activity points per day, that I will end up with 28 more per week. That would be a lot of extra points to consume. I like it better when they are in a "use em or lose em" each day basket.

I know that consuming them is a choice, but I wonder what everyone else does with them.

I always ate mine - I had it set to use my weeklies first, then my ap's. It's a great debate as to whether or not to use them, you might want to experiment and find what works best for you. Good luck!

If so, there is a way to change the setup so that if you need that extra snack at the end of the day, it will automatically use your AP's instead of your weeklies - I would much rather use from my AP's because I think using my weeklies would hinder my weight loss since I don't have a lot to lose

So I use my Activity Points first. Then I move into my weeklies. I find that I use up all my activity points and I don't even move into the weeklies. HOWEVER, I am notorious for only eating between 500 to 900 calories a day. 900 is a good day where I have focused on eating something 3 times a day. Now that I have started WW, I try to eat ALL my daily points and Activity points. I occasionally get into my weekly points. My suggestion is use your activity points because MFP requires you to use them on that day. WW doesn't require you to use them on the same day but it is suggested that you use all your activity and daily points. In addition, they say to try not to deprive yourself and encourage you to use your weekly points for treats or desserts.

When I was using WW tracking, I would use up my weekly allowance first then I would only use my activity points. I STILL have some days were I eat my minimum calories and am fine, and other days I feel like a have ingested a tapeworm and dip into my point balances. You can choose which bank to take your points from first activity vs the weekly points, on the website. In the end, I don't think it really matters...a point is a point no matter where it comes from. If you find yourself stalling on weight loss, you may consider not eating your activity points to see if it jump starts you back into weight loss.
    Hope this helps
