With miles of great coastline, what is your favorite beach, and why?

SO so many to choose from. Zuma beach, Carpinteria state beach and MIssion bay in San Diego.
Zuma because I grew up going there, lots of sand, good waves.
Carpinteria because of the camping and the beach is very safe. Cool little town also.
MIssion bay area, place is amazing, so much to do and see.

We used to always go to a small one called San Gregorio beach. . . I wonder if its still as nice as it used to be when I was young.

This is hard one...there are so many:

    Mission Beach - San Diego
    Stinson Beach - San Francisco
    Big River beach - Mendocino
    Carpinteria Beach - Santa Barbara
    Santa Cruz/Capitola Beaches
    Jenner/Goat Rock - Jenner

    .....and on and on...

Seal Beach, because it's close and mellow and hasn't been taken over by yuppies the way Huntington has. And Santa Barbara, because it's just beautiful!

Jalama Beach...on Highway 1, 10 miles from Lompoc...but only because it's local. Any beach, anywhere makes me think of God:
"You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, You still them" Psalm 89:9

Sunset cliffs in Ocean Beach is really pretty (San Diego) and any of the beaches in Mendocino and Humboldt county. They're so different than So Cal's beaches. Love them!

Any of the beaches along Monterey coastline. I like them because most of them are dog friendly.

Just throwing in my 2 cents... Hollywood Beach in Oxnard. Partly cause I live on it so I'm partial but also because it's clean, wide, dog friendly and never crowded, I usually have it mostly to myself and a few locals.
