    I am a "girlie" gamer.

I have a story to tell...
One night me and my hubby were playing Halo 3 on Live. So we're waiting in the lobby for the game to start and you can hear all these morons with big mouths talking crap to each other. This one dude started making fun of my screen name by saying, "Madamenapalm? (He couldn't even say madame right.) Is that a girl name? Whatever, all girls that play video games are ugly anyway." And my reply was, "Really? 'Cause I'm sitting here right next to my MAN and HE doesn't think I'm ugly. I bet you don't even have a girlfriend." And with the most pathetic, defensive voice you could imagine he replied, "Yeah, I DO!!!!" Then in the most sinister, sexy voice I could muster I said, "But she isn't playing Halo with you is she????"

BURRRRRNNNN!!!!! Everyone was laughing. It was totally awesome.

I love this!! Lol!! Made me laugh!! That's awesome :)

Ok Im most deffinatly a girlie gamer. I played WOW obssesively until an intervention was staged. My favorite game to play after I get off work is House of the Dead Overkill. I like games where they let me actually shoot. I have every system nintendo has ever made and after a recent robbery I now need to replace my Xbox360 and PS3. I love RPG , puzzle , and fighting games. **** I just love games. I have been known to blow whole weekends with my guys playing vidoe games.

What is a "girlie gamer" I giggle when I win or beat someone's face in, does that count?

Seeing how some men giggle with delight while live on 360 for the whole world to hear, I would say YES.

Pretty funny when compared to the 11y/o Asian boy cursing everyone else out.

    Gamer? Yes.
Girlie? Never... unless bedazzling my controller counts?

I want to meet the guy gamer that has a name like mightymom ... because that would just be funny. I mean really if you are going to put something like that in your gamertag you would assume they were a mom. I guess they could think it's your kid or something, but still.

I love this! Girls are DEFINITELY good at gaming!

I started with Wolfenstein and Doom.

Got sucked into Diablo and became addicted to RPG's.

I've played a lot of MMORPG's including WoW, Aion, LotRO, Vanguard, Pirates of the Burning Sea, and probably other's I cant remember.

I use primarily the xbox and PC but do play a few on PS3.

And I do love Little Big Planet :)

Cant play FPS because I cant am and I never know which direction I'm facing. Mirror's Edge makes me nauseous.

Can't play scary games like Silent Hill or F.E.A.R. because I get nightmares.

And, yes, fellow gamers/group members are always surprised to hear a girl voice on Vent. Or on in-game chat.

I haven't been playing anything lately and I miss it. I'm hoping Diablo 3 comes out or that I at least get invited to Beta.

Otherwise I might have to go back to Aion... Or LotRO.

I love being a girl gamer. Xbox Live is the funniest place ever when you're playing something like CoD, Gears or Halo.

I get tons of messages and friend requests just for being a girl. My boyfriend finds it amusing to reply to them for me... :)
& you know the sore losers when you get a message flaming you for killing them so many times and being a girl ("You should be in the kitchen, not on the xbox." Those sort of jibes) . :)

I'm a girlie gamer too! and only person I play with right now is my hubby!! I need more girl gamer friends! I pretty much only play Call of Duty for X-Box. I also play RPGs once in a while when a really good game comes out (Fable!).

I love RPGs and adventure games, but I also like more casual games like Harvest Moon. I dig platformers.

I love the Harvest Moon games. And Mario games. My last obsession was Red Dead Redemption. My current one is Skyrim. I rented Dead Island from Redbox and that was fun, so I'll probably buy that eventually.

I took it more as female gamer. Because there's nothing girlie about me.

Although I will admit that I've played both Hello Kitty and Cooking Mama on my DS .. *sigh* But I've since moved on to COD, BF3 and other such fun shooting games! :)
  • Reading into this as female gamer, as the only game I've giggled to was Alan Wake, and that was nervously after my boyfriend decided to turn off all the lights at home while I was playing (far away from any switches).

I love Gears of War, although I haven't gotten the 3rd yet, neither have the time or money at the moment. Not too good at shooters, so I tend to avoid them for the fanboys and annoying, raging dolts I've encountered. That and I stopped playing them at 8 years old and sort of fell behind, now I suck at them. They're still fun if I warm up to them and get the controllers right.

Platformers, scary games, LoL, sandbox games, RPGs.. I'll try anything but sports games. Love living with an idort, so I lack for no consoles.

I get a LOT of comments and never respond to them, although I did set myself up for all the rude comments. You see my screen name is Analina - which is supposed to be my first name and since I'm a huge fan of Angelina Jolie, I took the lina part from that, however, dirty, horny little boys like to call me Anal. LOL

I used to get a laugh in BF2, when I'd kill some immature male and they realized I'm a "girl", they'd be p!ssed!

This is one of my favorite parts about being a girl gamer. had it happen all the time in Halo 2 since I was the only girl in our group and still have it happen all the time in COD, BF3 anything really. I laugh every time!! :) Who says girls can't be good at video games?!?

It is entertaining! Back in my BF2 days, I was a good jet pilot, top 9000 in world rankings. Guys would love talking smack about shooting me down. I'd fly the "weak" jet (think the F35 versus that really good Chinese jet) and own them. Very fun to shut them up that way.

I enjoyed playing on the same servers and getting to know the nice regular guys. After awhile, they'd be good about moderating the nasty comments guys would make about "girls". Kicking guys off the server that were being rude. Made it fun to play on their servers.

I've got to get into BF3 and MW3 soon.

Semi Gamer lol. Because life is so ADD that I can't focus on one thing long enough. I love fighters and melee, adventure, RPG, JRPG (love it!!!), but I don't do shooters because I can't aim to save my life!!! (unless I'm frightened...then I rack up headshots by pure accident XDDD)

I do LoL occasionally, cause WoW takes too much money and I also don't have the attention span for either of those games, haha!!! Playing Alice and Catherine atm, and recently recieved dead island from my guy as a gift...that should be interesting lol.

    PS3, cause I'm a SONY fan for life. :)

I have a 360/Wii/PS2/DS/Sega Genesis/Nintendo...I love them all. Right now I'm playing We Love Katamari, Orrochi 2, Just Dance 2, Pokemon White (don't judge me, my husband has Pokemon Black...), Ruin Factory 2, Inspector Layton, Civ V and I CAN'T WAIT for Diablo 3 to come out.
  • I will just say why I feel the need to post in and be semi-active in gaming groups targeted or exclusive to girls.

It's really rare I can go through an online game session with a microphone without being hit on, insulted, or both (but not always in that order). I never make a big deal of my gender (and I definitively don't try drawing attention to myself), but it gets obvious by the way I speak. Even on my LoL account, which is genderless and I don't really speak other than basic team communication I have on more than one occasion gotted lewd comments due to my character being a well-endowed female. (Or, just human female in that game).

Guys reading this will probably just get exasperated and tell me to suck it/deal with it/grow up/quit gaming (talking from experience). Which is why I don't ***** about it to my guy friends. But when something pisses you off, you want to vent and talk about it. Other girls might tell me to deal with it or grow up, but not the majority. They'll share my annoyance, curse those guys and that will be that, but only if they actually play games. Girls who don't will just wonder why I play them to begin with.

Hence, girl/woman/female gaming groups. Where a girl/woman/female can vent the annoyances that comes with playing that guys can't relate to.

Fascinating. futureSkinnyVinnie... That's like the opposite of my experience. In 2.5 years of LotRO, I only ever had problems with 2 people. Typically I'm just treated like "one of the guys" because that's how I ask to be treated. A good portion of the females on my server ask for handouts, or are overly flirty/slutty, so the guys are always happy to find a "normal" girl who just likes to play rather than flirt. It was to the point where I was told a lot of the girls were jealous of me having a regular friendship with the guys, heh. It's the ones who had never met me that always gave me the "zomg a girl! what do I do with it?!" thing.

I actually just went back to playing a couple days ago, and I got several messages from my guy friends there within just a few minutes telling me they were glad to have me back and that they missed having me around. But not in a weird "zomg can I look at your bewbs?!" sort of way.

I have no idea if this makes any sense whatsoever. I'm so out of it right now...
  • I get you, I guess that's sort of what I get for playing gory testosterone-inducing games (or maybe just 'cause I'm on xbox). I don't flirt, nor do I ask for things, but the internet and the game communities are vast places with a lot of different people on them. Could be I'm just in bad luck. Rant over, anywho.

(or maybe just 'cause I'm on xbox)

I think that is the key right there SkinnyV, seems to be more rampant on Xbox. Only other place I noticed it was WoW, but that was years ago, seems to have calmed down now.

I have 2 different groups of guys that i can play with who don't bother me. Ok 1 is a group of gay boys, but they are awesome and I love them and the rest are just regular guys. I've never gotten hit on by any of them they just want a good game with fun people to play with. I'm ok with that. It's the randoms on Live that bug me.

I play PS3 - Chris (my husband) got me into gaming. I grew up super sheltered or I'm pretty sure I would have been addicted LONG ago. Anways we like House of the Dead Overkill, Borderlands, Marvel Ultimate Alliance and (don't hate) I spent quite a bit of time playing little big planet. Oh and PS3 handle is starbucksbuzz as well.

I am PC and Xbox 360

PC I mainly use for Sims or strategy games such as Age of Empires.

Xbox I'll play RPGs, Adventure games, Sims, Shooters.

My favourites at the moment are LA Noire and Skyrim. Loved Bioshock, Fall Out, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty.

Been playing since I was a kid, and my siblings and I got a Play Station 1 with crash bandicoot for christmas.

Now I mainly play with my boyfriend, who is mainly just an online shooter player.
