God is good and I'm learning to best appreciate and share with others how wonderful God is. It is amazing to me how many people now a days are not only athiest, but actually preach their lack of a Faith and come across as wanting to convert others around them to their way of thinking. How come I've never noticed this behaivor before? hmm.

I have no problem discussing my faith when a good opportunity comes up and I just realized this week that when someone "attacks" or slanders the Church or God it is a wonderful opportunity to share my Faith and the Truth with them! We are called to speak the Truth and be prepared at all times.

I've been blessed with the time to enjoy reading about the Church, studying Church history, reading the writings of the Church Fathers, hitting up some great blogs and pod casts, listening to EWTN, having incredible spiritual fathers in my life, and reading and studing the word with the assistance of some great theologians and professors in the Church, like Dr. Scott Hann and Dr. Brant Pitre.

Anyone like to share some great resources with us?

My husband is a theologian, and avid reader. He's been blessed with being able to devote his life to God. He's been on EWTN before, speaks publicly, and has agreed to debates. We are fans of Dr. Hann's, Peter Kreeft, C.S. Lewis........I could go on and on (my husband has a library of 5,000 books). Where did you study? Are you a theologian?

    macpatti,

I'm not an educated theologian, but I am catholic. :) I love living history and reading for hobbies. It's cool that your husband is a theologian. is that his profession too? I have had incredible teaching and the best part of my early years were formed by my bishop. He used to do spagetti nights with the young adults every Friday. That was the best! Think Bishop Fulton Sheen and a house full of college students. Good times. He makde us all understand that our Faith and our Church's history go hand in hand.

I was watching the USCCB live today and found out about the awesome Rachel ministry. That's so incredible. Our Church is so active and has so much going on! A priest from Hallysville, MD gave a great testimony of the effectiveness of the ministry in his own parish.

Locally I try to hit up an Opus Dei retreat when I can. I used to visit a Benedictine Monestary, but since I moved I'm out of luck with that. Nothing better than having a religious for a spritual director!

Yes, my husband is a theologian by profession. He is an Assistant Principal at a Jesuit school and the head of the Theology Dept there. He's an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas and he teaches at a convent here. He's got Masters's in scripture, theology, and philosophy.

Where do you live? I thought I saw that you were in Texas, but that may have been someone else. We're in Houston.

YESSSSS OPUS DEI!!! I have a ton of family members (including my mom) who are members of Opus Dei and I LOVE it!! I actually didn't get to log my calories this weekend because I was helping out on an Opus Dei high school girls' retreat AND the school I'll be teaching at in Spain is a school of The Work. =)
