***PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING QUESTIONS IN THIS PARTICULAR THREAD!***

Hello fellow Hogwartians!

This topic will contain the official rules, updates to rules, contact info for Heads of House, and ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT ANY PART OF THE CHALLENGES!

Before you ask a question, please see if it can be answered below:

Q) What do I do first?
A) Join a House!

Q) How do I join a House?
A) Post in the Common Room you'd like to be Sorted in to. The Head of House or another student will fill you in on how to get started within a day or two at most. Be patient, please!

Q) What Houses are open to new students?
A) All Houses are always open, but some (usually Slytherin and Hufflepuff) need more members than others, if you don't have a preference.

Q) Is it too late to join this month?
A) Nope! New students are welcome in any House at any time during the month. We weigh in between Friday and Monday every week, so have your most current weight ready when you join (you'll be given the link to your House's spreadsheet, and you can post your numbers there).

Q) Where do I find the OWLs and NEWTs for my House?
A) Weekly challenges are individual for each House, so look in your Common Room, or ask your Head of House (House Points and Weight Loss are the only things required from every House).

Q) What can be posted in the Common Room threads?
A) The Common Rooms should be reserved for students that are participating in the Inter-House Challenge as much as possible. If you'd like to share something in those threads, but aren't in the challenge, PLEASE MAKE A THAT CLEAR IN YOUR POSTS so as not to confuse the Heads of House.

Q) What if I'm not part of the Inter-House Challenges?
A) If you'd like to chat with other Hogwarts students about Harry Potter anything or anything in general, feel free to start other threads all you want. They're more than welcome and encouraged, for Challenge participants and non-participants alike!

Q) What if I want to participate in the challenge, but I don't want to participate in all the parts?
A) The challenges are set up so that people can choose to participate in the bits that do them the most good and allow them to have the most fun, and leave the rest (examples below).

Are you not weighing yourself right now? That's ok! Don't weigh in, but log your exercise minutes for the House Points!

Are you not exercising right now? That's ok, too! Just weigh in each week and help your House win their Quidditch Matches!

Are you more concerned with your diet right now? Just do your House's NEWTs (food challenges) each week and possibly become Prefect!

Are you not interested in the weekly challenges, but still want to compete? Do what you normally do and keep track of how much time it takes. There's no criteria besides time for counting House Points. And you can always log your weight even when you don't exercise or complete the weekly challenges.

Here are the official rules for the monthly Inter-House Challenges:

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/bronwenhilary/view/hogwarts-inter-house-challenge-143613

Inside, you can find details about when and where you need to check in each week, and with what info.
You can find links to your respective Common Rooms, and various Badges and Cups (jpegs).

Weekly and Monthly results will be posted in the Great Hall by Wednesday (or as close as possible):

IF YOU DON'T READ THE RULE BLOG, AT LEAST PICK A HOUSE AND CONTACT THAT HEAD OF HOUSE BEFORE STARTING A NEW THREAD TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT RULES!

I have little patience for redundant threads, so if you'd like to participate in this group, please get familiar with the rules some way.

SPEW is what some Houses use as the name of points for posting daily in your Common Room. Check with your Head of House if it's not clear whether your House uses this or how it's scored.
