Hey everyone.. how's it going on this fine Thursday?? Looks like fall as finally sunk it's real teeth and we'll have to wait until March-April'ish for 68° weather again..!! Anywho.. What's up? Anything interesting going on for y'all?
I have a small story to share.. So I had a roof leak in my condo, and of course after 3 months of going back and forth w/the association on getting it fixed, they contractor finally came out a fixed the leaks.. Now in order to fix this, he had to pull my washer/dryer stack out of its little cubby that it sits in so he could replace the drywall on the ceiling above it.
Things go as planned or whatever, he leaves.. and the next time I go to wash clothes, and said clothes being my 4 nicest pairs of jeans, my washer just starts beeping at me.. just beep after beep after beep.. So I go check it out, open the washer, and the clothes aren't even wet.. So I'm thinking, "Oh..he must have forgotten to turn the water supply back on..." .. so yep..that was it.. turned both the knobs, and restarted the washer and all was good.. so I thought..
Fast forward to an hour later or so, and the washer is signaling that it's finished, I go an open the door up, and boom - TONS of steam just pour out.. fogged up my glasses and everything.. Well apparently the contractor hooked up the hoses to the wrong nozzles.. so while I had the washer set for Cold/Cold, it washed and rinsed in Hot water...
( Bummmmmerrrr.. Luckily they've agreed to replace my jeans.. so I can't be mad at 'em..but dang.. they should check things like that before they leave!!

I'm just happy today and tomorrow are paydays. Buying the plane tickets go see my mom wiped out my bank account. Traveling expenses are ridiculous!0 -
Holy crap that stinks!!! Sorry about your jeans, dude! I'm not a contractor, but that seems like a rookie mistake on their part!
I posted this on my status, but for us Feds it's CFC time, when we raise funds for charity. My agency makes a HUGE deal out of it, and each branch/division tries to outdo the other with fundraising events that all revolve around FOOD! These past couple weeks we've had two bake sales, a breakfast, and a chocolate sale. Today is a "tailgate" event with burgers and hot dogs, along with another breakfast going on right now. In a couple weeks I'm on the committee to host my office's chili cookoff. No one liked my "stair climbing" fundraiser...a race to the top of our 26-floor building. Lol! Guess they all ate too many cookies.
I'm playing major catch-up with housework and homework this weekend before Thanksgiving next week...I'm staying local, thank goodness!0 -
oh no! your poor jeans! well i hope they replace them with even better (and smaller <wink>) jeans!
My thursday is great! I'm in an inexplicably great mood, tomorrow is my 4 year anniversary w/ my boyfriend/partner/dude, i'm eating new england clam chowda on a cool day so it feels like i'm home again (originally from vermont).
I really can't complain about much.
I do feel like a traitor tho, i placed an order for an iphone 4s last night... i've been a dedicated droid user since they hit the phone-scene, but darn it the iphone was so much fun to play with at the store last night, i had to get one. Hopefully i wont regret it!

oh, you know i'm stayin' with verizon. i'm a verizon loyalist. while many have had bad times with them, i've had absolutely nothing but good and will be staying with them until i experience otherwise.

haha..good idea on getting the jeans back in a smaller size.. Then I can use that as motivation to drop a few more lbs here and there!!
Mari, yep.. CFC time here.. we don't really do too much in the vein of internal branch challenges.. Ooooh if I wasn't on MFP and trying to be healthy I'd love to transfer to your agency for a few months!!! :P
I love Verizon too.. just waiting for this dang Galaxy Nexus to be released! They're taking their time w/it (meanwhile overseas it was released today..)
Payday for me is still a week away.. *sigh*.. Gonna have to take it easy this weekend!!!
