So passengers on a flight headed from India to England were basically grounded after their flight stopped to fuel halfway to their destination and couldn't pay. Each passenger had to pay roughly $200 dollars for fuel to continue their flight. The standoff lasted 6 hours and the cops had to be called, the passengers that didn't have the cash were escorted to an atm. I believe they said the plane got to it's destination 2 days late. The total cost to refuel was $31,500. They will be given a refund. What would you have done, Ponied up the moolah or stood your ground? Personally I would be super pissed but would pay up the money as long as I was promised a refund haha but man I would have been pissed.

I wouldn't trust them to actually pay me back, I mean, they couldn't pay for the fuel in the first place0

They had no choice, except to pay. I would have paid and sought legal counsel upon returning home. This is an act of piracy and extortion.0

Seriously...
I don't think I would have $200 to get out of an ATM.0 -

that's freakin nuts! Like others have said, it's not like you really have a choice but to pay, but I would be fuming! That's rediculous that an airline would not have enough money for fuel. What happens if enough people refuse to pay? they just make those that will pay put out extra? That's insain0

As strange as it may sound, seems like they had no choice but pay. An airline who can't pay for fuel shouldn't have allowed the plane to take off in the place.
There are people who don't carry atm or credit cards. What would they have done?0 -
I'd be the odd one without $200 on my person or in my bank account. What happens then?0

It was also $200 per person. So a family of 4 had to pay $800.0

Oh that's rediculous!! I wouldn't have had the extra $200 in my account. Guess I would have been up the creek without a paddle. :mad:0
