I'm having a rough evening... What makes you feel better after a binge or what to you do to fight the urge to purge!?

  • If Ed is yelling at me particularly loudly, I will often go for a run/walk, drink some tea, read my Bible (don't know if you're a Christian or not, but I hang on to it with the last shreds of my sanity some days!) call my boyfriend, read a book, do breathing exercises, do yoga, make a list of things I'm grateful for, make a list of all the ways my body is beautiful and helpful, put on makeup and do my hair... there are lots of different things.
    They don't always do the trick, but I'm learning to use new tools besides food manipulation to maintain happiness.

    Also know this: Any time you need to talk, you can message me or write on my wall! :) You are beautiful!
  • I second all of those suggestions! I like to talk it out when I feel like I want purge...my husband is pretty good at distracting me.
    I have been known to sit on my hands as well...not that that really helps.
