Silly Comments

So when I was picking up my dry cleaning yesterday the lady behind the counter was asking me if the dresses were for work, then if I was cooking for thanksgiving, then asked if I was married. Lovely. haha.

This is getting silly, because I am only 23 (24 on Friday!) and I don't need to be married, but I know so many people my age who are getting married, having kids, or who are in serious committed relationships and I am stuck solo. haha. Oh well. Just have to keep having fun and getting out there, right? I just don't know what I am doing for New Year's.

Last year at my work Christmas party someone came up to me and asked me why I was there alone. Granted he doesn't know me well enough to know my personal life but really who in their right mind would ask a girl alone at a party that question? And 3 years ago on Valentines day I was getting my haircut at a walk-in place and the girl asked me what me and my husband were going to do. That was right after my divorce so that one stung. And no - I was NOT wearing a ring! People ask silly questions.

I have two kids and there's always an older lady who will come up and compliment my kids, then ask what my husband does. When I say I'm not married they ask what does my boyfriend do. Then I have to also say I don't have a boyfriend either and then the inquirer says "Oh....". And it's like ugh!!! I know I'm single with two kids ok! Don't make it worse by pointing it out!

I completely understand... I'm 26 and it seems like everyone I know is married and popping out babies! I try not to let it get to me though... the right person will come along at the right time!
