Cops Summoned To Florida Elementary School After Girl Kisses Boy In Phys Ed Class

A sheriff’s deputy was dispatched last week to a Florida elementary school after a girl kissed a boy during a physical education class.

School brass actually reported the impromptu buss as a possible sex crime, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The assistant principal of Orange River Elementary School called in the cops after a teacher spotted the smooch Wednesday at the Fort Myers school. In fact, Margaret Ann Haring, 56, initially called child welfare officials, who directed her to contact the sheriff, according to a report.

The kiss apparently occurred after two girls debated over whom the boy liked more. That’s when one of the girls “went over and kissed” the boy. The redacted sheriff’s report notes that Haring “stated there were no new allegations of sexual abuse as far as she knew.”

Deputies do not appear to be further probing the preteen kiss.

Do you think the school was right or wrong to handle this the way they did? My opinion is they went way overboard on this. My word, when I think back to my childhood and all the kissing that went on in elementary school, probably almost every kid in school would be considered sexual predators!

BWAHAHAHAHA!! I think that's hysterical! But this article leaves any pertinent facts out... Age of the children, Passionate level of the kiss, hand placement, groin contact... C'mon...

Way over the top! I have a 6 year old boy who has autism and according to this article he would be sexually assaulting every attractive teen girl who got into his vicinity. He loves teenage girls and he wants to kiss them. We have a rule "no kissing at school" he has kissed many children at school and his teacher simply tells him no! He is getting better about it though. I am sure that these children were "innocent" and the school staff went way over board.

If they were really young as a mom I would be going off..............even if I was the boys mother I would be going off on the school staff member that took it to that level, if they have an issue like that the parents need to be contacted first. That is ridiculous and blowing things way out of proportion. Assuming that it was just a small kiss between two young children who really didn't understand what they were doing.

It was a simple kiss between young children. . that the powers that be blew up to be something it wasn't. . I find this ridiculous. People need to lighten up!

I should be a registered sex offender according to some of the ridiculousness today. When I was in 1st, 2nd, 3rd grades my 2 best friends were boys. Every day on the playground we would play tag but when I caught them I'd kiss them. Darn good thing they didn't press charges. *rolleyes*

You know, it's no wonder that this generation of kids is so effing CONFUSED when it comes to sex. There's so many mixed messages out there. Kissing apparently is now sexual assault, and kids are all told how taboo sex is etc, but at the same time sex is thrown at them from every media channel possible from TV, movies, internet, etc.

It's like waving a steak in front of a dog and telling the dog that the steak is BAD BAD BAD at the same time. WTF.

Precisely. What a truly absurd overreaction! Take the kids aside, tell them that's not appropriate behaviour at school, and leave it at that. We've had similar overreactions here recently, though on 'racism' grounds. The most ludicrous seems to be where a three year old (I think - he was certainly very young) was suspended from nursery for calling another child "broccoli head". The child was reported to the local council for 'racist language' and the incident will remain on his permanent record. Madness.
