Welcome to Debatable Debating! This group is a place for the discussion and debate of any and all topics.
As we believe that we are all adults here and are able to work out our own differences, this group will have very limited moderation.
That said, we do have a few guidelines set up in order to allow the forum to remain a place where we can all debate in a respectful manner. We hope that Debatable Debating will remain a welcoming place for all opinions to be heard and respected even in the midst of heated debates.
Please review the following guidelines and keep them in mind when debating on the forum:
1. Absolutely NO ad hominem (personal) attacks. Please refrain from personally attacking, insulting, belittling, name-calling, or bashing on members if they have a different opinion. Attack the points made in the post, not the member.
2. Citations are appreciated! Providing supporting evidence for your argument will enhance the point you are trying to make.
3. All issues that arise between members during a debate should be resolved in the forum. Please do not attempt to continue an argument via private messages as this can easily turn into a claim of harassment. Additionally, please refrain from badmouthing any members you might disagree with on any other boards.
4. Remember that it is okay to agree to disagree. Not everyone will have the same opinions and it is perfectly fine to decide that agreeing to disagree is better than arguing in circles.
5. Please try to use proper grammar as others will take your views much more seriously. Typos are obviously going to happen occasionally, but please try to review your post before submitting.
6. Please avoid one word responses like "Yes" or "No." This is a Debate Board, so please elaborate on WHY you feel the way you do about the topic being discussed.
7. Have fun and post a lot! Debate forums are always the most fun when there are a variety of topics being posted and the forum is active.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to message any of the moderators and we will be more than happy to assist!
Happy Debating!
