Well...i can do a fair amount with the weight machine/home gym i bought. Not the best but itll do. Then ill get a bench and barbell. If im doing that and writing down how much im able to do with what exercise and add in squats and some KB stuff and do that all in the same workout, what else should i be doing? I guess thats what confuses me. I know i have to do some cardio but i keep reading some peopke say you dont need to do lots of cardio, just HIIT. But is something like spartacus workout considered hiit? Or should i alternate the previous workout i mentioned each day with intervals of something? And where does a KB workout come in? Is that considered weights or cardio? I do enjoy KB stuff. I just need help figuring out a routine.

you will want to split up your workouts so you can concentrate on a major muscle group, or upper/lower body. i haven't used kb's, but i believe they are used in complex movements, meaning they work more than one group.
do keep track of the exercise you do, how much weight you used and the repetitions, because you will want to increase the load each session, or occasionally each set, depending on your goals or program.

cardio is different. depending on what you need, whether its caloric expenditure or stamina, it may or may not have a place in your program. many people do strength training alone, without any cardio at all, while some people add it in to increase their deficit. HIIT is interval training and that, too has its place. if i dnt have a lot of time after my weights, ill do a HIIT session and be done, but sometimes i like a nice long run in the country :). i have a need to lose fat in a set amount of time, so that is why i kicked up my cardio, but after december, ill probably just do a 3-day weight split and a couple 30-minute cardio sessions.

there are some very good strength programs out there and you will need to find one that works with your equipment and time constraints. New Rules of Lifting begins at the beginning and takes you through about 7 stages, with an eye for the person who doesn't necessarily belong to a gym or have fancy equipment although if you DO belong to a gym, its more convenient. the bodybuilding.com site has quite a few programs to choose from and it may be worth your time to wnader through there and take a look.

google stronglifts 5x5 and or search threads here at MFP for the same. My spouse was so impressed by how quickly my body comp changed that he dropped his body building typical mass reps of low weight with isolation movements to do my workout and he has also built visible muscle in a short amount of time.
