Attorneys representing at least 20 law firms across Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky filed the complaint alleging breach of reasonable care to the victims in Marion Superior Court in Indianapolis.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages from Sugarland, producers, stage riggers and others associated with the Aug. 13 show. Stage rigging collapsed into spectators following a wind gust of at least 60 mph, killing seven people and injuring more than 40 others. Sugarland had not yet taken the stage when the collapse occurred.

Sugarland's contract specified the act had the final say on whether to cancel the concert due to weather, plaintiff's attorney Mario Massillamany said in a news release.

Do you think the band Should be named in this lawsuit? Should the ticket holders be accountable for their own safety considering they were standing out there in 60mph gusting wind and they knew the band was considering not going on because of the safety issue? Weren't the ticket holders actually the one's with final say on whether they would stay and watch the show in weather like that? What do you think?

In my opinion, it's just another case of somebody blaming someone else for their own actions. Nobody told any of those people they had to stay and watch that concert. I'm sympathetic for the ones that were injured and for the families of those that were killed, but it's not Sugarlands fault.

Tough issue. Generally, I would think that a warning should be issued when the producers of the event knew the storm winds were surpassing the saftey limits of the structure. Not to mention, when standing in a large group, I don't know how evident it would be that the winds were as strong as they were. Sure you would know it's windy, but would you know the danger? I'm not a fan of frivolous lawsuits. but when a small private business or large one, including government property, you are responsible for the well being of your guests to a point. I think what is in the grey is how responsible the accused are since this was an act of nature and no one really seems to know how much gravity can be given to the accused response/warning system.

It was irresponsible for them to continue, given the weather conditions. Sugarland is culpable.
