I just had my baby boy 5 weeks ago via emergency repeat c section. Only emergency because he decided he didn't want to wait the 12 hours until his scheduled time and broke my water early. I have a daughter as well who is 20 months old. In the past 2 1/2 years, I have been pregnant 18 months of them! I had lost all but 10 lbs from my first pregnancy when I got pregnant with my son. I gained 36 lbs with dd and 37 lbs with ds and got up to 227! I am only 5'2", but have a lot of muscle because I've danced for 19 years (finished out the dance year while pregnant with ds, and was 5 months pregnant for the recital. I thought I was going to die!)
I gave up my gym membership while pregnant bc I had no time to go. Now I'm scared about losing weight bc we don't have the money for another membership at this point. We do have netflix and a wii, so I'm sure I'll get some workouts in that way. But if I am not in a gym type setting, I tend to slack a bit. I make excuses and don't do it. I need some good friends on here who will check in on me regularly and really push me and motivate me. I need it!
So nice to meet all of you!

Hi! It's very nice to mee you! My son is almost 3 (in February) and I am still working on losing my "baby fat" - but I could have lost it all by now, I have just slacked off a TON! I was 132 June 2010....but I just gave up on working out and let myself gain it all back (plus some) currently I weigh 149.8...still about 16 pounds over what I was a year and a half ago...and 29 pounds over my goal weight of 120. I had a gym membership, but only went a handfull of times. I worked out at our YMCA, and it was ok, but I just never had the motivation to leave the house to go.
Now I just use workout DVD's at home, and sometimes go running/jogging. There are a lot of great programs that don't cost too much. One good one I am doing right now is Lindsey Brin's "Mom's Into Fitness". Here is the link to the website so that you can check out her products. I spent about $15 dollars and downloaded her 60 day workout program to my computer. It comes with 4 workout downloads, a meal plan and a workout calendar. To actually order the DVD's is about $50 I think (through the mail) but the downloads are cheaper. For an extra $5 a month she also posts a new workout each month to do as well.

There are also free workout on Youtube, Exercise TV, and other websites that you can do as well. Just stick with it, you will see results as long as you remain determined and keep your eye on the prize! :bigsmile:0 -
Welcome, Kayla2284!!!
I have a 9 month old son (my first) and I am NOT an athletic person. I'd like to blame my situation all on the pregnancy, but I can't. My lifestyle was lacking even before I put on 40 preggo lbs!!!
Exercise is a big challenge for me. I do not currently have a gym membership, and have been doing walking and dvds at home. I have found that accountability is key
- I have joined a couple of group challenges to keep me motivated
- I made a workout plan and wrote it into my calendar, checking it off as it gets done
- I even started logging my workout ahead of time...once you log it, you have to do it!!!!
I am currently doing jillian michaels 30 day shred - it only takes 20 minutes, combines cardio, strength training and abs, and has 3 different workouts each with 2 levels of difficulty. $9 at walmart:)
I think you will find this site very useful - it has made all the difference for me! Breastfeeding took care of the first 20, but then I stalled...MFP has allowed me to stay focused, be aware of what I am doing, and kept me accountable. I am now at pre-preg weight, and ready to tackle the next 20 that can't be blamed on baby
BTW - if you are breastfeeding, you can add it to your food diary - it will subtract a certain number of calories from what you've eaten to make sure you are getting enough. There are different options to suit your needs (i.e. exclusive, 6-12 month old, etc).0 -

Hello and congrats on your new bundle of joy. My little man just turned 7 months today and at delivery I was at 242. As of Friday I am down to 199.6 without going to the gym. Now I didn't have a c-sec and I know they take longer to heal so before you try to exercise make sure you are able to --don't want ya to get hurt. I work-out about 3 times a week and more if I can. I do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, Leslie Sansone Walking DVD, and now up to walking 3-5 miles 3-4 times a week. Little man loves our walks so that helps push me to get out there. Of course it's getting colder so our walks might change some depending on the weather but that is what my walking dvd's are for.
Another thing that helped me was joining MFP. Everyone here is so supportive and have great ideas to help out. I have started doing some challenges which kinda helps me kick it up a little more than I normally would. You can do this mama but just remember to do it slow--you and baby come 1st :flowerforyou:0 -
