Today is my normally scheduled rest day, so no shred for me. Anyone else planning on taking one rest day per week? I know this isn't really mentioned on the dvd (as far as I can tell) but Jillian makes a point of stressing the importance of one rest day a week on her ripped in 30 dvd...:)

  • I take a rest day every Sunday, gives my muscles time to recover. Works for me!

I don't plan on resting - but mostly just because I really want to get the whole thing done by christmas!! :) Day five went well! I feel my muscles getting stronger already! :)

I didn't shred yesterday, but I went to a 45 minute Zumba class. The days I go to a class I will not shred.

I still don't like the jump rope!!!

I didn't take a break and did the shred as per usual. I figure its going to get much harder in the next two levels so I'm saving up a rest day or two for then, if I need it (and that way I can still complete the shred by Christmas).

P.S. took measurements again after the 5th workout - I've already lost cm's from my waist, hips and bust, yay!

My shin is still bothering me so i do extra punches instead of jumping. I don't plan on taking a break though, I want to see the best results possible.

Fantastic!!!! No better motivator than results!

Regarding the rest days...I am counting the rest days as part of the 30...so I guess I'm actually doing the 26 day shred? Doesn't quite have the same ring to it, does it? :)

I'm actually doing it every second day, as I don't want to burn out or injure myself - I'd rather keep it going for longer!

It's going pretty well, apart from today when I had to squeeze it in when I hadn't had any food - so low energy made it super hard, but I couldn't wait because a repairman was coming to take our TV away! Finished up about 30 seconds before he walked in the door!

I took a day off yesterday, too, but because I just did not have time! I was kind of upset with myself because Sundays/Wednesdays are my off days at the gym, so I didn't log any exercise yesterday... it felt weird. I don't intend to skip any other days, but there may be a couple more days that I just can't squeeze it in, especially getting closer to Christmas.

That's ok - I wouldn't worry about it, just make sure your food budget falls into line with your exercise and you'll be fine! I try to just eat less on the days I don't get to exercise. It's not as pleasant or easy, so it motivates me to exercise whenever I can, which is great!

  • Day Five Done for me!! Feeling a little stronger but still hurts ...just pushing through it. Is anybody else doing extra cardio other than 30DS? I add an extra workout so I can get a good calorie burn

    Hi,

I am doing JM level-3 tonight with my DD. We usually do it three times a week. I also do a morning live Zumba class on Mon/Wed.
I truly love my Zumba class it helps me stay in shape. I have gone from a size 14 to a 10.
