Hi All!

I'm a brand new MFP'er and thought I'd introduce myself. I've been vegetarian for about a year (although I rarely ever ate meat before that anyway) and eat a primarily vegan diet now. I also have PCOS. I'm hoping to lose quite a bit of weight. I keep hearing that vegans drop weight naturally. I eat a very clean diet but I find I have to work off every pound (thank you hormones). I thought I'd introduce myself. I just don't fit in with the high protein mentality of animal products several times a day.

I'd love to connect with a few people hear to swap tips and successes.

Hello and welcome! Congrats on the transition on becoming vegan. I'm not a vegan myself but am trying to stay away from dairy as much as possible.

Thanks! Truthfully I don't find it all that easy to be vegan but LOTS of health stuff cleared up when I transitiioned. Apparently I'm pretty sensitive to inflammation and being vegan eliminates most inflammatory foods. I started getting regular migraines at age 9, I'm 35 now and they've largely stopped since I switched about a year ago. :)

Your ticker looks amazing! How long has it taken you??

I've been vegan for almost two years now. I didn't start losing weight until this August when I started to actually MOVE. I'd love to be your friend.

Thanks! It took me about a year to lose my weight. I was really unhealthy and started changing my life one step at a time. What are you meal plans for the holidays? I made some egg less egg nog yesterday it was pretty awesome. Here's the link http://happyherbivore.com/recipe/vegan-eggnog/

Thanks! I've been following HH on fb and can't wait for the book to get here ! I'm really not sure. I'm bringing two veggie dishes for Christmas day so at the very least I can eat that. Both of my kids have food sensitivities so in a big gathering like that I don't get much time to eat anyway.
