Hello all,

I'm new to MFP and sort of new to veganism so I thought I might find some like-minded souls here.

Have a great day!

Hi! How long have you been vegan? I'm still relatively new but I love it.

Since August 2007. I just love it!

I live in a city where fresh produce is relatively cheap (unlike the towns I lived in Florida, oddly enough!), so it's a lot easier here to eat a varied diet with lots of leafy greens and fresh fruit.

I love when I meet vegans who actually eat a healthy diet! Today my choices SUCKED but still better than most meat eaters I know! LOL

Is everyone in your house vegan? We're a mix and have food allergies as well so meal times are very interesting around here. :)

    Hi,
I too am relatively new to veganism - just under a year. I am the only vegan but my daughter and hubby are vego's and my other daughter is an omni. Does make for interesting meal times. I have found a new interest in cooking since changing my diet - have you?

Totaly! Now I'm not cringing and wearing rubber gloves to prepare meals. If my husband wants me, it's usually him who cooks it now. Totally amazing, he's a complete meat eater and has recently adopted a much more veg lifestyle and is feeling a lot better. Never thought I'd see the day.

I love Jae Steele's cookbooks. She's a holistic nutritionist and her recipes are vegan AND health promoting! :) What's your fave vegan food?

    Hi Amy,

welcome to team vegan. I joined MFP 2 weeks ago. I love it. I decided to go vegan about 2 1/2 months ago and I love it. I have been reading and learning as much as possible. I really enjoyed "Becoming Vegan". Last weekend my husband and I attended a "Vegan Food Festival" in Toronto. We had so much fun and tried a real new variety of food. This week I finally found a vegan cook book that also lists the nutrition value. Can't wait to try all these new recipes and try them on my family.

    Hi Marie,

'Scuse my typos from this morning, had a babe in arms and just noticed them now. I have a friend who went to the Toronto festival, she said it was awesome!! :) I haven't read Becoming Vegan. Mine started with The Kind Diet and Skinny ***** (although I really thought a lot of their food in the end of the book was like vegan fast food). May I ask which cookbook you bought??

    Have a great night,
    Amy

Veganomican is a great book and I also love the Coleen Patrick Goodreau books. I too found the Skinny Bi*** in the Kitch was like fast food which is good sometimes but definately not how I would like to eat each day
