I love how when caching, we usually find some place or see something that we wouldn't normally have experienced if not for Geocaching. I personally love all the great scenery!

Have any of you seen or found anything interesting? Also, I love unusual cache containers!

This one was the hardest we ever found. Took 3 tries! :noway: Since it has now been taken down, I guess I can reveal the location. If you really want to know feel free to message me.

a few years back my brother, my daughter and I were caching. We were searching for this one cache (its archived now) the only info we had was it was a 10" plastic container. didn't seem like that would be too difficult to find, were we wrong. We were searching and searching everywhere in these woods, finally after about 20 minutes my daughter sits down and casually asks "why is there a fake owl in the tree?"...yup the cache container was a fake owl that was 20 feet up on a branch of a tree, one of us had to climb the tree to get it.

Awesome find! Love it when they aren't just normal run of the mill cache!

I haven't actually logged this one yet, but one I have planned is pretty interesting. It tells you to go around low tide because you actually have to climb into a pipe that runs into the river. If you go strictly by GPS without climbing into the pipe you'll end up standing in the middle of the street on a manhole cover. I've been waiting for warm weather, because even if you go at low tide you end up getting a bit wet and dirty, especially if you want to leave a note that you went for the 'bonus' which can only be reached on your hands and knees.

Sounds like it would be an awesome cache!

I've had a birdhouse that was a cache! My sister and I spent ages looking around this tree thinking there was no way they'd put anything in a birdhouse but eventually decided to go for it and there it was, lol. I've also found fake rats, fake spiders, a goose head and a few other fake animals.

My favourite cache is a local night cache. Despite the entire distance being no more then 500m from parking to cache it took us about 2 hours as we went round in circles, missed firetacks and all sorts, lol. Really good fun. :)

I did come across a fun one when out with my geocaching buddies (sis and a friend) over New Year. It was almost like a game from a kids TV show or the Crystal Maze as it involved the cache at the bottom of a tube which had lots of holes that needed plugging with fingers, a leaking bottle and the only source of water being 15m uphill from the cache! It was very funny and who knows what any nearby muggles thought.

There is 1 nearby I haven't tried yet which is on an island in the middle of a fairly major river! Granted, this is a about 30 miles up from the sea but it's still pretty fast flowing at that point. Not looking forward to working out the safe path over as I'll no doubt get soaked. Think I'll wait for a dry spell too so the river is down.

Ha Ha, I really love interesting caches, so, for my first (and only!) hide, I made a little fairy house with out of roses, pine needles, (fate)butterflies and moss. It took me AGES to make it! I did it under some trees off of a trail, and at first, everyone loved it, and it got favorites, but then someone took my house! I was so upset!!! I want to replace it, but I'm afriad my hard work will go to waste again!

I had an owl one too!! The most interesting one I found was a mini hotel the size of a large birdhouse that was a hotspot for travel bugs.
