After 3 weeks of 17DD, I just realized my carb cravings are finally dwindling down...alot. I still have sweets a little & a bit of carbs, but I dont crave them anymore & I dont get the headaches. I also enjoy the treats now without guilt because Im not "caving in", I am simply satisfied.
Also, since this breakthrough, I've lost weight more rapidly. 10 lbs total (my ticker is incorrect due to me not updating it at my highest weight on day 1). This is motivation to keep on going.
Thanks everyone in this group...great suggestions & support!

AMAZING!!! It feels great, doesn't it? Good for you!
Carbs make me feel like a hamster on a wheel. It only takes one serving, and I'm back on the wheel.
Once the weight is completely gone, they can be added back in - slowly. I've actually discovered that some grains are very irritating to my colon, so I will not be eating those any more. If I had not eliminated carbs in the first place, I would not have been able to discern the effects of specific carbs.0 -
Thanks...It does feel great! And the probiotics help A TON! Along with the water with lemon. Yes, carbs are evil, lol! I even passed up ice cream yesterday (my all-time weakness)! It felt awesome.
Im doing this one day at a time. Thinking long term is too much pressure. Carpe Diem I say.0 -

Actually, you still eat carbs on the 17DD -- just not the starchy or junky ones. After having followed this plan for almost 8 months in some form, I discovered that I have a great sensitivity to oats. Yes, even the steel-cut, natural blah-blah-blah ones. Especially those. I have eliminated those from diet permanently.
But vegetables and fruits are also carbs. Sauces contain some carbs (that's what makes them thick).
I personally am able to keep ice cream bars in my daily diet and still lose. I do rely on the prepackaged ice cream bars to ensure that I don't go overboard on my serving size.0
