HOW TO CALCULATE CALORIES BURNED FROM JILLIANS 30 SHRED LEVEL 1
If you want to find out how many calories you burn, compare it to the standard.. set up as a proportion
(a 154 pound person will burn 503 calories an hour on level 1 of jillians 30 day shred)
154 lbs * "x" = 503 calories * your weight
cross multiply to get 154x= 503*your weight
divide your weight answer by 154 that will be how many calories your burn in one hour
divide by 3 to find out how many calories you will burn in one 20 minute session
**for example: my current weight is 216.7
154x= 216.7*216.7
154x= 109000.1
(now divide by 154 on both sides to get "x" by itself)
x=707 calories burned per hour
***707/3= 235.93 calories burned during the 20 min workout0 -

This would be super helpful but I am sure I would do it wrong because I'm lucky if I can add correctly..

Formula
MET, or metabolic equivalent, is a number that represents your energy output during an activity. To calculate your calories burned while walking and wearing weights, use this formula:
(METs x 3.5 x weight in kg) ÷ (200) x duration in minutes. Divide your weight in pounds by 2.2 to calculate your weight in kilograms. You weigh 52.2 kg if you weigh 115 lb.
mets= 1-15 pound= 5.0
so if you have 5 pounds of dumbbells and weigh 214 and walked at pace of 3.5 for 20 min. you would calculate like this:
(5 x 3.5 x 97.06877) / (200) x 20
(1698.703475) / (200) x 20
8.493517375 x 20= 169.870 calories burned during that workout
**if you only walk at a pace of 3mph then on the first line you would put 3.0 instead of 3.5 :-)0 -
