This says that we will soon find out who Dr. Whale is. I could see him being the Big Bad Wolf over Monstro (the whale). Monstro isn't a main character and I don't see how they could incorporate Monstro into Happily Ever After. I guess we soon shall see!

OH OH OH! I just had a thought! Since they are going to be introducing Belle soon, could Dr. Whale be the Beast?0

Naw, I certainly hope not. Dr. Whale is pretty much a creep. I mean, in a creepy (never will like him and not handsome enough) creep, kind of way. LOL0 -
Yeah, he definitely won't be a "good guy."0
-
I was thinking that Dr. Whale was the bbw too. He just has that sly bit about him.0
-
or maybe jeffar if they're really doing alladin0

Looks like they are bringing in the Beast and Gaston.0 -

I don't think Jefar was in the original Aladdin story, though, was he? Yes, Disney has done fairy tales, but usually twisted them around to make for a better movie. I think we need to look more at the actual stories, not just the Disney movies.
Monstro wasn't that insignificant. He might have been in the Disney movie... But I doubt it. Though his last name is "Whale" I think that being Monstro would be too, too literal. Maybe something related to whales, the ocean, etc. Ideas?
Apparently we'll find out soon though, so I think we'll find out in the next episode.
Ariel the little mermaid was a dark, twisted story. The witch actually split her fin in two to make legs, and Eric wound up with the witch in the end and Ariel committed suicide. . . I doubt they won't go with that version, though :laugh:0 -
I had no idea The Little Mermaid was that dark!0

Many of the original fairy tales are crazy dark. Disney made them happy. Since ABC is owned by Disney I don't see them going in the direction of the original stories! lol. I found a great Wiki about OUAT though. It has a really good synopsis of all the characters we've seen so far including minor ones like the dwarves.

Me too. I'm soready for it to come back on. I've debated watching the marathon on New Year's Day but think I will get board watching them all again. I don't know. We'll see what happens come Sunday.0
-
Oh, I didn't know there was going to be a marathon. i don't think I'll need to watch it again with commercials. I have most of the episodes recorded on my DVR and am able to watch recent episodes On Demand. So, the marathon would be overkill. LOL0

Rumor has it that Joanne Garcia is being sought to play Ariel. I could see her playing Ariel actually.
I was thinking about some of the other characters though. Is there any other character that Sidney Glass could be aside from the Magic Mirror? The only reason I ask is because those 2 characters have been played by 2 different people and all the other characters have been played by the same person in both Happily Ever After and Storybrooke.
Also, what do you think of Whale being Pinocchio? Whale has been known to lie and his name gives him the connection to that story that isn't a complete copy of the Happily Ever After character.0 -

On the fairy tale side they showed Pinocchio helping with that magic tree. I was thinking that Dr. Whale would be Monstro the whale from Pinocchio, but that was far fetched. I don't see Dr. Whale being Pinocchio though.0
