Overuse injury?

Yesterday I went out for a 13.1 mile run, and today was supposed to be my last 26 mile run in preparation for Disney. Because of circumstances outside my control, I ended up having to work last night and not getting home until close to 7 am this morning. I had originally planned on going out after about 2 hours of sleep, but apparently I am good at turning off my alarm clock in my sleep.

So anyway, right now I'm debating on going out for 18-20 miles (that's about all the daylight I have left) or just skipping altogether today. The reason I'm thinking about skipping altogether is this overwhelming stiffness and pain in my left hip, both knees, and ankles. To me this sounds like an overuse injury, which is entirely possible because in the past 3 weeks or so I've gone from never doing more than 20 miles a week to doing 35-45 every week.

My question is this: how much do I stand to lose by leaving out this last long run before tapering? I had planned to start tapering next week, but last week I finished a 12 mile run followed by a 26 mile run the next day. Disney is just over 3 weeks away, and my longest run over the next 3 weeks will be 8 miles, with about 3 runs per week (following the Galloway plan for my taper). By the time we get to Disney it will be just over 4 weeks since my last long run, am I going to lose all my conditioning before then if I don't do at least one more long run or would it be better to start resting up a day early?

Since you have ran 26 already I don't think missing this long run will hurt you by any means. Most people I know stop at 18 or 20 miles so you are ahead of the training game from what it sounds like! Good luck on your race!
