Ok, I've gone vegan for a total of three weeks now and love it! However this week I've been super gasey. What techniques or ideas do you have that help you get around all the bloating and gas?

If I go a while eating processed food, like on vacation or something, getting back into whole foods for me takes a while and can be kind of gassy. :blushing: LOL I make sure to drink lots of water and take a beano or gas-x before I eat a real fibrous meal. I know beano is NOT vegan but if I have to take a few to get back into the game I will. Peppermint tea also helps so I drink a few cups of that each day. Doing yoga also helps, if you have netflix there's one I love by Yoga For Health for gastrointestinal health and it's great for moving that air out of you system. I know as long as I stick with it I don't have any problems... and I eat legumes every day.

The cruelest thing about vegans is our farts

Some people swear by Beano or cutting legumes down, but unfortunately it can be something that comes with the territory.

I have found that if I eat beans regularly, my body gets used to them. Same for veggies like brocolli and cauliflower. Haven't had to take Beano in quite a while.

I had this problem as well when I transitioned to a vegan diet. This question has come up on this site before and it made me realize that my problem disappeared quite a while ago and I never thought about it. I've been vegan almost two years (since 1/1/2010) and have even fewer problems than I did before going vegan.

I've been vegan for a few months & that problem has already gone away. It's just one of those unexpected humps that you have to get over, & then it gets easier after that.
